MWTK - How to approach girls/Be able to talk to girls

ok here is the run down...

im 21 years old

i meet my ex-gf when i was 16 and we dated for 5 years (we broke up this year), When we were going out i didn't really talk to other girls or socialized with other girls due to her.

Now i find myself 21 and very shy. I really have no idea how to approach girls and just start a conversation with them, I'm not looking to be able to pick up girls more just meet new people and expand my number of friends.

thanks in advance

Michael

Buy a Hyo.

Works wonders apparently.

Edit: Ah, actually found myself in a similar situation to yourself... Had my GF for 3 years before breaking up with her this year (I'm 21 this year).
Just talk to them how you would talk to your mates, only with less swearing, ball scratching and more compliments on how nice they look.
After all, they are people too (allegedly).. They just have boobs. Oh, and don't look at the boobs when talking to them. Her face is higher up

Once you work up the balls to actually talk to them, just say whatever. Hi, hows it going, etc etc.

Hey. I'm pretty good with the ladies without trying to boast. My best advice is be yourself and be interesting! I never try and "get" girls.. and all my mates hate me cos I usually either have 2 or 3 on the go. or if I'm with someone have another 2 or 3 wanting to be the one I'm with.

If your really shy and have no idea what to do when making first contact with women there is a really good show called "The Pickup Artist" It basicly explains a bunch of different ways of being able to approach women. and once you have approached them what you can do to keep them interested and how to control your body language.
Yeah it's great if you wanna pick up all the time. But it's also good to build confidence in just talking to girls.. My mate watched the show (Was a virgin 2 months before watching it) and now he's a man whore.. gets a different girl everyweekend.
I have the whole lot on my pc if you want me to burn you a copy. Just send me a pm!
Good luck buddy

Oh, and dont forget the Friend or Sister rule.
Just because someone who wants to talk to you might not be of interest, you never know what her friend or sister might be like!!!

or just come down to the Left Bank on saturday and ask for some assistance from the PSB Pimp > Perth Street Bikes - View Profile: resist

My best tips?

Most people love to talk about themselves so ask her questions, give listening a decent go and respond to what she says. She'll think your fantastic, even if you've only said 3 words the entire time.

Compliment her and treat her like the most interesting person you've ever met.

Ask questions about work/hobbies/family/friends and try and establish a connection.

We're not all scary and don't fear rejection - if she's a no go, there's someone even better out there.

GO to social events where girls with similar interests are likely to be.

Talk to them like they're people too.

Contrary to kindegarten beliefs, you will not get girl germs.

edit:
I guess what i'm saying is that if you don't think of them as "ooh thats a girl" and just think of them as people then just talk shit normally... easier said than done if you're single and worried about fucking up first impressions of course, but hey

Be yourself. Inhale a coupla glass's of Bundy to remove shyness (and add invincibility). Be interested without appearing to be too interested (ie don't behave like your desperate). Go out with a girl who is a friend (if there is such a thing). Girlz, for some reason, dig ya more if ya with another girl.

Or just buy another bike...
