You have a friend that is dating someone who is clearly batshit. (we all know at least one couple)

Do you intervene?

How do you let your friend know that his/her partner
is most likely going to cause them quite alot of grief?

Have you dated a crazyperson and been oblivious to it and only found out that everyone thought he/she was a basket case after the fact?

Tried once, seen other people try, it never ends well. Most peoples' ego won't let them admit they are with a crazy person, so they generally turn on the person pointing out the fucking obvious to them.

Of course, once the relationship is over it is your duty to let them know, so they can learn not to do it again.
You just have to hope they don't get married/knocked up along the way, so come out unscathed.

Tried a long time ago with one mate but he was determined and carried on, she was much better after she went on medication but he has not had the life he deserved and she is still a cunt 23 years later but is civil at least. Had another who I repeatedly told not to do what he went and did, TWICE, it ended badly both times but 4 years on he is happier than ever as he finally listened when I told him to grab the latest one and dont let go.

I'd always rather pipe up and cop the flak than not as you generally still have to help pick up the pieces.

nothing wrong with dating crazy people. in my experience its heaps smoother sailing when you actually know what you are dealing with instead of being WTF? all the time. so in that context i don't think people necessarily need saving from someone just cos they are crazy.

You left out manipulative and controlling.

There are all sorts of crazy, the quiet patient vindictive types, the loud agressive types, the just "off tap" types. I have been out with a few of these types, I too have been described as crazy, the trick is knowing when to get out. Ultimately some people are attracted to a specific sort of "crazy" and will keep going back for more.

Both situations I described previously were repeat offenders.

A guy I know was with a crazy, she would smash the window on his car and jump all over the roof of his dads car because he wouldnt bang her in public or some something like that. He would bitch about her all the time saying how bad she was and how she would pull knives on him and cut him. So we told him to get out of it or stop bitching to us about it and he cut all of us off for over a year i think. Now they have broken up and he is talking to the boys again.

We tried to tell him but failed so I guess unless its affecting your life as well then I wouldn't bother.

The women who don't have the backbone to deal with stuff on their own and use a boyfriend as an emotional crutch are the worst. I've made some serious mistakes/involved myself with some serious nut-cases. My closest friends, and family, all warned me, and I agreed with everything they were saying, but just thought I could handle it... I'm still dealing with the fallout from getting involved, and being around it day-to-day is having a pretty shit impact.

When someone doesn't know what their batshit person does, it might be worth a shot, but if you're trying to convince someone that what they already know about is going to end up destroying them... good luck with that. I don't think anyone is gonna have a lot of luck with that.
