    MWTK: In wall air conditioners

Just curious if anyone knows of anyone else who might service these beasties. Mine has started tripping the 40amp fuse that it sits on (yes, it's plugged into a 10 amp wall socket, go figure). Have rung the usual suspects in the yellow pages and everyone I has spoken to says they don't touch them. It's a good little unit, just seems like the compressor has finally given up the ghost.

You talk about domination, but have you ever caress her spine with your fingertips, Bedded her for the night, or gotten lost in her beauty?

Repair costs are more than a new unit, always when a fuse is popping anyway.

"teco" are the only brand I put in as a relplacement. Just measure the hole size and ring them.

Theyre childs play to install too.

I priced up a new in wall air conditioner, was looking at near on 1k to replace with something similar. The cooling and heating capacity of this thing is pretty damn good. Certainly in the upper spectrum of what is available, that and it's a kelvinator, so it's a good brand. Long in the tooth and noisy but does the job.

Thanks Ninjaa, will give Marcus a call, yeah, that was the number that t-roy sent through.

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Do you mean 40amp RCD ?? unplug the air con and reset the RCD see if it trips.

Its a Room Air Conditioner (R.A.C.) and if you are lucky it may just need a new capacitor.

Yep, that's the one, the RCD, imagine putting a 40 amp fuse onto internal powerpoints!

I did try and have a little squiz at it myself, but I couldn't even figure out how to get the shroud off on the outside. I think it's best left to a professional.

I think with those in wall/window air conditioners you need to get the unit out to access the insides. Screws are usually hidden by a trim of some description.
