Tears For Fears !!!!!! Go the 80's!!! I loved my flouro socks, leg warmers and teased/hairsprayed fringe!!
I listen to a wide range of music nowadays (compliments of working at 78's for 7 years) but the new wave 80's has morfed into my love of dark wave. Covenant "Dead Stars" - what a classic!

Ahhh 90s punk rock. It was 1999 and I was 13 yr olds and in year 8... I can't choose only one, they all sorta got interesting at once
Custard
NOFX
No Use for a Name
Lagwagon
Garbage
Blink 182
Greenday
Living End
I wouldn't say this is a very good reflection of my taste in music these days tho...

I think for me it was the beatles, via the animated series. And true love never dies
(except for the animated series, take away the music and it was pretty dire)

The Cat Empire.. Until them I never really fell in love, just short bouts of radio lust.
But if anyone cuts Felix's hair again I may actually cry. He looks so tame now

metallica, shortly followed by rage against the machine, although the only group i've liked every single song from is astral projection.

When I started getting really into music, my top three were Blink 182, Puddle of Mudd and the Darkness, but I listened to anything...

bands I liked in primary school (casette tape days) were ACDC, ZZ Top, Poison, Def Leppard.... When CDs became standard & I had my own money to buy them, in high school I latched onto Pink Floyd. First band I was a proper fan of, rather than just a passing interest.

Dire Straits.
Saw the Spareparts Puppet theatre do a scene playing Walk of Life when I was six. I immediately stole a cassette from the Bullcreek music shop. Best thing I ever stole.

^^ I remember saving my pocket money for a copy of BAD on vinyl... never ended up getting it. something more enticing must have come up in the meantime.
No great loss in hindsight.

The first band I bought anything of was Foreigner, followed by Queen, then because of 'sheer heart attack' I got a taste for faster heavier stuff and my taste slowly evolved into the current stuff

The Clash - not many old punks on this forum, then? They once played 5 nights at the Lyceum in London and me and older bro went every night. Those were the days - anything more than 3 chords or 3 mins was indulgent
