    Need Excel Help (VLookup)

    Hi guys,

I know some of you are Excel Guru's so I am hoping you can help.

On one spreadsheet I have the following data

    Cust PO Despatch Date Comments

Then on another spreadsheet I have the same info.

Now I can't just copy & past as the lines dont match up because there are some P.O's in one that aren't in the other.

So how do I do a vlookup that looks for the P.O number in one spreadsheet, then copies the next two cells and pastes it onto the matching P.o number in the other spreadsheet.

    Thanks

    =vlookup([PO number],[table],2) and =vlookup([PO number],[table],3)
Where [PO number] is the cell with the po number in it and [table] is the three columns in the other spreadsheet, assuming column 1 is the po, column 2 and column 3 are the ones you want the data from.

The easiest way to do it is to have both spreadsheets open then when you are creating the formula, instead of typing in the address of the data [table] just click into the other spreadsheet and select all of the data you want included.

    I hope this makes sense.
