Yandi BHP or Yandi Rio? They're next door to each other. I was at the Rio site until March earlier this year and it wasn't bad. 8 & 6 means 8 days on, 6 days off and you travel in your 8. So for example, you might leave for work on a Tuesday morning, then you'll come home on the following Tuesday night. So 7 nights on site, 7 nights at home. Just about the best roster there is IMO. I'm on 9&5 which isn't bad and it means a bit more money.

Working 8&6, you would fly out on the evening of your last shift, and fly back in on the morning of your first......for example, Tuesday evening out, back in the following Tuesday morning and straight into your first shift.
BHP, thanks for clearing that up, I hear that all bhp op staff that arent residential are going 8-6. :-)
I got enviro jobs if u got experience :p
Its a political sh|tstorm on site atm...
Hwe got bought out, went from 1bhp enviro + 3 hwe, to now5 bhp enviros...
Of that a number just resigned, and posibly more to follow...
Loads of personality clashes... Parko (super) also resigned and is doing 3 mnth notice period...
Lots of unhappy people there atm...
Camp depends on which one u get... One is great other not so much...
Lots of different projects n bhp groups in that area (adp, sustaining capital, reg etc)
Good luck with it anyway!!!

Hi Hazel, yeah, I'm working on a contract for Paul at the moment, doing diesel fuel risk assessment tour of all bhp IO mines in WA, due up at Yandi, and Area C around 4th of Nov. good to see you finally got that site job. just got back from OB18, whaleback etc on a inspection tour..
What sort of package are site bhp enviros getting, pm the response if you prefer.
with most likely apply, can always turn it down ;-)
Anything has to be better than Coolabah, most boring place on Earth.

lol sux to be all youse...i'm lucky enough to be in the Rio Control room at the airport.....i'm on Paraburdoo but only meters away from every other site in the world lol
Just did two rounds at para...fkn dusty place that is lol.
Good luck with your new job OP

B2 is a shithole mate, tiny site more commonly referred to as Tonka Town.. You might also have alot of trouble with mobile reception out there over the ridge.
I don't often drink onsite so I never bothered to check if there was a wetty, but being Rio i'd imagine there is something there mate.
As said above B4 is the Grand De Lux of Rio sites, sport ovals, running/bike tracks, squash courts, driving range, swimming pools etc...
Do you know which BHP site it is? There is the old Yandi and the new RGP5 with about 15kms between the offices. The new camp and offices are pretty flash even still the old ones aren't too bad.
Be careful there though they have a dubious safety record and its not much fun having to drive down the road to try save the competitions employees
Bang Bang, you ever been to the east sites? Hope Downs and Yandi are pretty comparable to B4 also, as for B2..... I wouldn't be going there
Men have motorcycles while women have mensutral cycles, you can't talk to either while they are on it. The women's also has a sound, it goes nag-na-nag-nag-nag, biiiiiitch-bitch-biiiiiiiitch!
well, I applied, be up there around the 6-7-8th for some contract work, so i can kill two birds with one stone and scope the place out :-)
RGP5 construction is finished so we are all one now. Safety wise, I would say we are dam good, we just report the truth and don't fudge the figures to suit like a lot of others.

Yandi is nice, haven't stayed at HD.... B4 and Mesa A are good. I was at the new Marandoo construction camp a few weeks back, and the new rooms are really nice, and the camp was pretty good too...
West Angelas was crap. The visitors accomodation had tiny rooms and shared bathrooms, and no tv and the wetty opening hours were severely restricted after a recent incident...
And Max Power you can rest easy... B2 has a wet mess, even though its as shitty as the rest of the camp...

I don't recall internet access at B2, but it was 2 years ago and the rooms we were staying in were different to the rest of the camp (rooms provided by Calibre for the B4 rail project).
The rooms for the ops guys had no TVs, but they did have phones. Not sure on internet though...
