    OFWTK Post your epic ride

Having been inspired by our newest member, frian 03 (see welcome)
Where have you toured on two wheels, and where is your ultimate tour/ voyage of discovery.
My own are unworthy of mention and punctuated by breakdowns, oopsies and poor planning.

I find it hard to narrow down my options here in australia.

Opening it up to different countries has me really undecided. Love to get an east to west trip under my belt in the next few years.

Doing the Nullabor with a swag is not a bad option. I think we have enough roads and small country towns to make it memorable.

Exactly what I was looking for. 1st time over I did it in 40 hours, didn't see a bloody thing.

thats quite a trip for a 250 fatoxious . i rode a zzr250 from rockingham to coral bay and back and it almost killed me , on those straight roads that seem to never end i got lost in my own little world and was doing about 160 for 40 mins before my bike strangly cut out. after removing the tank to have a look and noticing it was empty i waited for the convoy of cars that i was traveling with to bring some fuel .

Not really a ride but more of a drive.

I bought a car in Victoria & the first thing I did after leaving the previous owners driveway was take it to Great Ocean Road after looking at it on Google maps, best road I've ever been on by far, I'd love to take the bike there. Epic twisties.
Straight roads are for fast bikes - corners are for fast riders!

Just spent 21 days travelling around both islands of New Zealand. No accommodation booked just rocked up into towns and stopped when tired.
Total trip was 8,500km. North island was awesome for twisty roads

Where have you toured on two wheels:
Lots, and lots of places but most memorable is ~23000k around Australia (anticlockwise) on a Triumph ST1050 Sprint, tenting and living out of the bike for 3 months. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Where is your ultimate tour/ voyage of discovery.
Mount Everest Base Camp, by motorbike.

2003, rode around Australia: 27,000km over 5 months on an ST1100. Camped occasionally, mostly stayed in backpackers'.

2005 (6?) rode around Western Europe, down as far as Napoli and up as far as the Lofotens in Norway. Similar sort of distance, two up on an FJ1200 and camping most of it.

2010, Twisties Trek, two of us (me on a hayabusa, optimal on his sewing machine BMW) went to Adelaide, Melbourne, around Tassie, up to Thredbo and back. 12,000km in 14 days or something like that.

Next? Dunno. I'd like to do a ride across canadialand and/or the USA.

id like to do something like this

Map your running routes. Plan routes before, or create route maps in real-time using iPhone and GPS. | Running Map

it would be cheap, fairly easy to get accomodation, shouldnt be too much of a drama to cross borders
ALWAYS check before you ride, speed cam locations on a map
