PVA WTK. How foreign people leaving Australia without paying their "fines"..?

    Hi all,

I was wondering How foreign people leaving Australia without paying their "fines"..? do they get stopped at the immigration? or when they wants to comes back into the country?

    for eg.

A person from A country accumulates driving fines & points but they are simply leaving Australia without paying any fines.

    Does anyone know?
    What is legal issue here?
I know it would be very hard to track someone down once they leave Australia.

    kind regards
    Gluey

Last time I left the UK with a fine from a speed camera at some roadworks. I went through there every day and knew for a fact there is no way I was speeding.
Sent them a letter with my forwarding address here in Oz and never heard a thing from them.

I got done less than a minute out a car hire yard in Southampton, the hire car company billed me admin fees for forwarding the notice to me after they supplied my d/l and addy details to the Hampshire Constabulary. Nothing ever happened. Asked an aunty that works at the home office/justice and she said don't fret your passport's all clear (UK one) and no warrants or fines etc.

Think the same applies here really for the reverse of that situation.

A mate who returned to Newcastle NSW from WA was told by a detective that in view of the warrants piled up from QLD and Vic if he saw one from WA, he'd frame it and hang it on the wall. I suspect most law enforcment organisations would feel the same. That is, they have enough to do with those still in their jurisdiction.

If you returned to the place you received the fines and got involved with the law, you may have an issue.
