I'm going in for a consultation on the surgery next week and I would some feedbacks on your experience with the procedure please.
Any risk associated and anything I should know?
Cheers,
Rane

ah search,
thank you Sandra and my apologies since the use of the tapatalk app that's hardly done anymore.
Melkor, teeJ. Any feedback now that it's 7 years since you've had it done?

I had mine done in 2002 and don't have any issues with my eyes, don't like driving a car at dusk, but I'm OK on the bike at this time.
Sometimes have a milky film over my eyes, but I think this would more than likely be 'normal' anyway
Best thing I did, well one of the best![]()

had mine done about 5 odd years ago ... LOVE IT!
may I ask what sort of downtime did you have after the surgery and any discomfort?

had to be driven home but the awesomeness of seeing the instant i got off the table was like phwoar!! Had been 10+ years with glasses etc.
Got home ... took some drugs and went to sleep ... woke up and it wasn't that bad as far as discomfort ... wore those silly eye covers for the time period they said.
next day was pretty much fine.
ok question time.. eyes get worse as time goes... so if you have had the op, is that it, fixed for the rest of your life or at some stage will you need to go back to glasses 10-15 years down the track..??.. i have the stigmatisim (egg shaped eye balls)thing with my eyes and things get hazey/blurey(harder to see) over a distance.. do you think i could be fixed..cost is what $5000 an eye??
2400 per eye apparently

cost is anywhere from $2200 per eye up to about $3200 per eye pending your doctor. Lions is the cheapest where as the Dr I had has really ramped his prices up.
This surgery fixes the eyes that have gone bad ... it does not fix old age with eyesight. The aging process can't be fixed so eventually you'll need cheap ass reading glasses as you get older.
This^^^ My missus had it done with Lions Eye Institute and went from needing glasses/contacts to be able to drive and read street signs etc to not having to wear glasses at allShe has noticed a very slight change for the worse in the 5 years since but is still rapt to not need glasses

I'm thinking about looking into it as my eyes have gone downhill in the last 5 years![]()

i know to folks who have had it done, and given a new lease on life.
my missus complains of her eyes "drying" in aircon sometimes tho.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
seriously looking at doing this myself. been having real trouble with contacts lately and cant stand wearing glasses. will have to make that appointment!
My sister had it done and loves it. She went back to water skiing a little early and after decades of skiing and not getting hurt, she got hit in the eye with the ski which disrupted things a little. Probably a good idea to follow the recover period.

My dad had it done to cure his short sightedness. Now he no longer needs glasses to drive and see in the distance, but now has to wear reading glasses!
