RWTK: Permission to contact a person at a work number

I've been receiving calls from ebay and the shit through my work number which in my opinion poses as a serious breach of confidentiality. I have not given them permission nor my work number in writing or verbal form in the past.

I have provided a mobile number to contact and the bricks still forward calls through the company.

Is this a breach of laws as I am getting questions asked from my boss about personal calls through work?

Meh, sounds like they went to a lot of trouble to get your work number even though you have provided them your mobile and expressly not provided them with the aforementioned work number. Probably a conspiracy to defraud your of money or possibly your internal organs.

I suggest when they phone you at work, answer and say your name is Adam Ant and that [insert your real name here] is no longer available at this number/extension/planet.

They rang work, which was then transfered, i'm not available at the desk. Which they then left a message through the receptionist, receptionist then sent a notification email via a monitored network.

I rang them back and they asked me verification questions bullshit like which number did they call me on. My extension wasn't it and they said they cant discuss the matter unless they can verify who i am (WTF?)

This shit hasnt been resolved and i keep getting calls from the bricks last week.

If its people asking about your listings, is it possible you have given too much info in your ad?

It's not illegal but it's extremely unlikely that eBay will contact you via the phone, sounds like a scam.

Next time they call, ask for an eBay internal email address (ie xyz@ebay.com or xyz@ebay.com.au) and the item or account number you can use to verify that it is, in fact, eBay trying to get in touch with you. If they won't supply it, tell them to fuck right off.

If so contact them
If not , contact telstra ( this in itself maybe worse than putting up with the problem)
Get there number, Go from there

Log time of calls you recive so it is eisier for the telstra mob to help out.
