Nope, but then I'm an ATGATT kind of dude, and with my lack of skill on anything 2 wheeled it's a good attitude to have.

yep, I don't wear a helmet here unless I'm on the road bike doing super-mega-fast speeds, but it was SO much more convenient when in Europe just being able to jump on a bike and ride it into the city/shops/pub without fear of cops or wondering where to keep your helmet.

I voted no because I used to race and do triathlons so I am just used to it.

Nope. Mainly because my wife is a theatre nurse who saw the drop in head injuries and I would sustain a head injury before I got out of the driveway from an iron or a frying pan or...I might stop now.

It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

Why would you want to ride a pushbike with no helmet in first place??

I ride a bicycle at least 5 days a week on Wanneroo road with speed from 30km/h to 45km/h, wouldnt like to know what happens if i have an off with no helmet. You can reach speeds up to 65km+ on some roads.

Unless you are riding in a park on a grass doing 5km/h you would be pretty silly not to wear a helmet.

Do you wear a helmet while riding a motorbike? Not much difference there.

You can crack your head open with no helmet on a bicycle while doing 10km/h on the way to the shops or while doing 65km/h on the road, always wear a helmet kids.

    I always wear a helmet.
Wearing a helmet has probably saved my life once, and I might still have all my teeth if I'd had full faced helmets

But you could also crack your head open when climbing a ladder, or even walking up the concrete steps to my front door... I rode a bike for years without a helmet, and yes, it does stop me just hopping on to go to the shop (2 minute ride) now.

I don't own a push bike or a helmet But if I do go out on a bike it's normally on a path to the shops and back.

As a child I rode a bike from the age of 3 to the age of 17 and never wore a helmet.
The fact that I'm posting here, means it didn't kill me.
......Why do I have to wear one now??????

    I don't own a pushy.

Bicycle is my primary transport. I've been in 2 crashes to date where the helmet has probably saved my life. Riding on the road or at speed aren't really factors, given that falling off while stationary is enough to fracture your skull. I will never get on a bike without one.

Do I think it should be law? Not for people over 18. Let evolution take it's course.

Oh, and for the record, if you're over 12 years of age, riding on a footpath (not including signed bike and dual use paths) is also illegal.

    Oh... thanks for that NanoBear....
Well- back on the road for me it seems I hate cycling on the road. What about long boards? Are they also banned from footpaths?

Why bother changing a sensible law that isn't enforced anyway
As nanny state laws go bicycle and motorcycle helmets being mandatory are less invasive than most.

No brakes? Technically not legal on the road, in the bike lane, on the footpath, or on bike paths or dual use paths. Ditto for roller skates, roller blades, normal skate boards. Toe stops (skates) and heel stops (blades) don't count as breaking systems.
But it's a bit like the law about kites in public parks. I've never seen any of it enforced in my lifetime.

The fact you are on one in the first place lends itself to not careing about the rules anyways
You know this, but using one to commute for ~4yrs now and never had any issues with the law
