I went for a week early this year...but we ended up leaving 2 days early because we only caught like 3 mackies. We went on the brightest full moon in 20 years
I took 10ft heavy action 6-15kg rod, 25kg mono and about 10 lures, It'll sure be an experience if it's your first time. Make sure you take a cliff gaff and some balloons with helium, You'll spend most your time spinning with lures. You need to be fully sufficient, So take a ton of water, food etc. The ground is pretty hard so you need some strong pegs and a hammer to pin in the tents, We took sand bags to hold the pegs down aswell because it can get windy.
I hear it's been pretty shit the last couple years because of the 2 degree rise in water temperature
Your allowed 2 balloons out per camp, Take some lacky bands to stick the bait on for the ballooning too.

done plenty of remote area camping just all the pics i have seen show real big gear Ill take the drill for the pegs had that before when they just bend or bounce.
did you go down to falce entrance or just play at the cliffs

I used a penn 850 with about 10 kg line and about a 7 foot ugly stick and just spent the day spinning. I also dropped a baited hook straight down the cliff out from the camp site and got nice snapper and a fish but I forget what that was, sampson maybe.
You are better off with a line gaff I rekon, too far for a pole gaff.
I have some photos some where of a huge hammer head swimming straight down from the cliff, don't fall in.
Oh and just walk to the right inland and there is a sheltered beach. We took salt water soap and would go wash there.

going in a month Im not a mad fisher but would have a go my mate is I'll just have a few beers and watch mostly.
As the other guys pointed out NO shade so uv proof shirts are a must.
We fished the Faultline did ok. Plenty of Tuna mackies etc lots of big fat whiting round on the sheltered beach and tuskfish there too.
Fish 15kgs gear at least for spinning we started at first light and had breaky later.
Good luck..
