Swimming - do you really care?
Once again the olympics are on again, and it's hours and hours of swimming.
Are you a fan of this sport, do you just like to see Australia win medals, or are you apathetic?

I like to watch it at major events, it's something different. Can't say that I am all that enthused about it as a matter of course.
I do feel however, that you have to show some sort of respect for an individual whos has probably spent the major part of his or her life getting up at 430 in the morning to spend two hours training and THEN do a day at school/work whatever.
I'm not sure I could do that.

It's boring, when the alternative is motocross / superbikes / MototGP / F1, any contact sport etc I will watch that. As for swimming as a sport, it's a great way to keep fit, but there are plenty of other alternatives that are better for me.

Well - the options as I type this are Women's Soccer, or a repeat of the Men's road race which I watched earlier today. (or StarWars Ep II). Swimming might be more interesting.

I watched a bit just then, nothing exiting. Out of all the sports there are swimming is on top for most boring, followed by things having to do with horses...

I find it pretty hard (boring) to watch, but because we have such a good history at swimming I do take an interest in the results and know who most of the swimmers are.

well i would have to say it's bitter sweet for me. I love to watch it, no matter where or how.
The olympic swimming has me a bit down however it's hard seeing every single one of your former team mates there and have them ring you to tell you that you should be there and made THE biggest mistake of your life.
Oh well, shite happen eh? sit there and sheer these guys on, it may not be interesting but us swimmers are probably one of the most diciplined sportspeople out there.
enjoy watching it, cos i know for a fact we enjoy turning it on for you!!

It's the single most boring event in the history of competition. It only gets televised do much because Australia does well in it. I guess if you got invested in how well Australia does you could enjoy it, but if you couldn't care who wins what (and half the time my apathy goes further, I want the Aussies to lose because they seem like such cocks) then yeah, snooze.

BTW - BMX is in the olympics for the first time this year - 20/ 8th from memory, metric sh!tload more exciting than swimming. Australia should do well with some medal contenders in there.
