SWTK: 12v AC plug pack thingy that plugs into walls.

So I have been hunting around for a 12V power plug pack thing that I can basically convert from a plug to a socket on the lead to plug stuff in. They are really hard to come by does anyone know what things use them or where a Smiff can get one from? CHARSSSSSS

If you are plugging 12v adapters for cars into it, you will want 12v DC not AC.

I was really hoping a quick ebay would have me showing you up but it legitimately seems like they're kinda hard to find.

I have a 12v AC unit at 2 amps you can have, but it does not plug directly into the wall, it uses an IEC type power lead (same as a PC power cord).

I converted a PC power supply to feed my shed. Supplies 12v up to 26a . Input is ac , output is dc . Free on roadside!

Are you absolutely sure you want 12V AC output?
If so it will be hard to find, but cheap as chips. (Usually low voltage AC transformers are used for cheap fairy/christmas tree lights with incandescent globes.)

If you want an AC plug pack - that outputs 12V DC, then they are usually so common they are thrown away - but usually a few $$ to buy.

What exactly is "stuff" you want to plug into?
Can you get away with 12V DC for your application? (powering incandescent globes should cope fine with DC also)

How close to 12v does it need to be and how much current? A downlight transformer may be the cheapest solution.

They're getting harder to find now, mostly switchmodes.

Current's an important call. AFAIK many older DSL modems ran off A/C adapters...

If its a small fish tank pump you could probably buy a new internal tank pump and filter for less than the price of the transformer.
