    SWTK- U2 concert

The papers are saying 55,000 people were at the concert on Sat night.

Now the stadium normally holds 38,000?? So does that mean there were less than 20,000 people on the grass (covered in plastic) pitch?

Seeing all those people I would guess there were more.

Anyone know more that the papers (not hard really)??

PS. I was pretty let down by the last three songs on Sat. Was pumped up to the Desmond Tutu part and then the show seemed to wane.

So if there was 45,000 seated that means there were less than 10,000 on the oval. that seems like less likely.

I was told 32K seating but google says 45K.... and the internets never lies.

Although - yeah - I would have said easy as many standing as seated.
it was packed. (and I was glad I was watching it all from up high.)

    Awesome gig.

How many at the bon jovi concert? My friend said it was easy 3 times the size/numbers for that.

I think your friend might have exaggerated the difference just a little.

Sunday was pretty full too, apparently according to Wikipedia the largest crowd there was Led Zep at an estimated 80,000 in 1972.

Had a fantastic night out! General Admission was ideal - you could relax on the lawn (wish I knew how to make lawn like that), and dance without feeling cramped or seated. Thank you U2 for playing all the songs I missed out on during your Rattle and Hum tour

It was a really good show, amazing stage, lights, razzle n dazzle. Very slick performance.

I loved it, got there really early and sorted out a great spot just in front and to the right of the main stage against the fence. Best thing was they played allot of their hits and not just "Hey heres a small town, lets bash out songs we hardly play and not many people know"

    Yes,
Totally agree with all of the above, for a bunch of older guys they were awesome and our $40 tickets were still the best $40 I`ve spent ever!
    Cheers

Meh! I was there Sunday night. Was cramped in general admission. Music was great, nice and clear. But I got to say, the concert on a whole was average. I saw Linkin Park the week before and they our performed U2 by miles.
