SWTK: Your favourite decade and why?

So I was just trawling through the internet trying to find pictures of the kids TV show Strawberry Shortcake as you do and I gots wandering through the 90's. TV shows that I completely forgot about popped up Keenan and Kel, Saved by the Bell, Hey Arnold.

I then moved onto the fashion and music. No more need to be said about those catastrophes.

Anywho it got me thinking what is my favourite decade and why? I personally am a bit of a fan of the roaring 20s the music was mint, the clothes were outstanding and the hedonistic views of society were outrageous. I obviously didnt live in the '20s but it is definitely a time I would have loved to experienced.

What is your favourite decade and why PSB?

It would have to be the sixties for me
The music, social changes, teenage rebellion, challenging authority.
I could add free love but didn't see much it in grimy Manchester!
Most memorably though, I rode my first motorbike

ummmm....60's? cos it seems to be one of those decades of great changes, some great music and of course great muscle cars and cheap fuel. i dunno really, i've enjoyed all the decades i've lived in for different reasons......btw, i didnt live in the 60's, unless you call being a sperm living.

Yeh - Although I wasn't there - the 60's would have been truly awesome for all the obvious reasons - music/culture/science/fashion/free-love/drugs/.... 2nd place 80's.

2010 was pretty awesome for me and the 70's were cool because that's when I was born. Without the 70s we wouldn't have me.

The 80s are the reason we haven't communicated with intelligent extraterrestrial life - they saw that shit and didn't want to be associated with complete losers.

70's. I was 17 in 1970 and had an absolute ball for the next 10 years. Well what I can remember of it was fun! As I've heard - if you can remember it, you weren't there.

WOW! I have been here for so many decades,it's hard to judge a favourite.

Suffice to say there were highs 'n lows in them all. I wouldn't have missed any of them.

I played, danced & sang my way through the early ones. Rode bikes (read hooned) & raced mini's, for a while.

Then my babies came.........my life changed.

Now.. I am still finding the joys of living, & still working on "the best decade" question.

What did you race Joan? I had a 850 that I used to race in "mini stocks" in the UK before racing a Hillman Imp in hillclimbs.
Then I went to a 1275GT with a "rather warm" Metro turbo motor in it.
    Good times!

    Good times!

Nothing so exciting for me. Back in the 50's -early 60's a girl I worked with raced at Ellenbrook, before they spoilt it by building houses.

Her boyfriend raced Holdens, he fitted twin Carbies to an old Cooper S & we both competed in that.

The sharing idea was so that we couldn't compete against each other. One of us would have died. We were crazy, fearless & invincible.

Come to think of it, nothings changed much.
