    TWTK - fuel injector cleaning

OK, have a buyer lined up for the 180 but it is misfiring when it comes on boost. i suspect a dirty injector. I haz questions

    - has anyone ever had any success with that crap you get in a bottle? I'm not talking about "i used it and my car works fine" - i mean having it fix a problem...
    - anyone know someone/somewhere in perth that will do ultrasonic injector cleaning? have rung a few places and they only seem to do diesel...

    cheers

I somehow remember Schneider Mechanical near Nialls workshop doing Ultrasonic Injector Cleaning, but I could be well wrong. Either way, wouldn't harm to give Abe or Michael a call...

I've not had luck with the cleaner fluid before.

Have done my own U/S clean with metho, makes a difference. What I can't do without the fancy rig, though, is clean it and then fire test shots to confirm the correct spray pattern. The shops can do this check and, in one instance (on a boat engine), my mechanic's injector place sent them back with no charge because "nah, they're spraying fine, it's something else"...

IMHO the wurth brand injector cleaner is a good product. I used it in my 97 magna. Used a full bottle on about 1/4 of a tank(over concentrated I know). After the car was better on fuel, ran a bit better and was less noisy in the top end. It was designed to clean the injectors and clean deposits off the top of the inlet valves. Whether my bum dyno was imagining it but the engine seemed to be a bit better after it's use.

I got mine done at a place in Booragoon, picked them because they were close enough to Elle's work for her to drop off & pick up

There wasn't anything wrong with them, I was just doing a big service and wanted them done.
Took them in on their own, $30 each, was done either the next day or even that afternoon.

Id change the plugs and check the coil packs for hairline cracks that cause spark to earth over first. Ive had my share of JDM nissans and this has generally been the cause of misfires.

Mate, if you have a miss fire its not going to be because of a dirty injector. Cleaning your injector is only going to increase the fuel flow if they are dirty or partially blocked. You will get pinging not miss firing from a blocked injector.
Go buy yourself a set of new spark plugs, I guarantee that will be your problem especailly if its only happening on boost under high load situations.
