    TWTK: Polaroid Cameras?!

    Hello fellow PSB'ers,
I did a quick search and couldn't find anything to add a thread revival to...
I wanted to know if any of you have owned or have polaroid cameras?
I've wanted one ever since I was a little kid, but I wanted to know is it really worth getting one?
Are their any issues with them?
Would it be better to get one of their new release models or get one of the older ones?
Any thoughts or feedback would be awesome- just so I can juggle my options.
    Thanks ever so muchly
    Emma

The novelty wears off quickly due to the cost per photo.

^ this.... $2 per frame, whether it sux or not. I haz a Polaroid 600 (interchangable lens viewfinder based on the Mamiya Press camera) you can have for free. Once upon a time it was useful.... then along came digital (showing my age)

Aw shit- here's the dialemma- where do I get the film. It's hard to track down "Shoot and Go" film..and because the camera is so "dated" the film is having to be remade by companies because obviously- polaroid has stopped making it....
hmm- how to overcome this issue....

Ok Everyone- Thanks to Skut I now have a beautiful Polaroid 600SE.
Can anyone tell me what film is compatible to work with this camera?

You would expect film on Ebay would be amongst the cheapest.
Searching for 'Polaroid 600 film' seems to work, buy it does not look cheap.

Yeah Ebay is by far the cheapest.
Polaroid stopped production of their film for older cameras in 2008 so all the film left over for models like mine are now expired and a bit dodgy to risk using.
Fujifilm has begun producing film compatible and I've found three types that are compatible- but I was wondering if there was more just so I had a better range to choose from- maybe a film is cheaper than another etc etc.

Looks like these guys will do what you need, after all:

    IMPOSSIBLE - film

I don't know if they ship to Oz (There's an Oz location though, so promising!) or if any of their products are available on ebay or locally...

    Thanks for the link Shrike,
I was looking more within the Fujifilm range- is there anything else I can use apart from the stuff shown in the review?
there is plenty of Fujifilm products on ebay- but it's whether or not it's compatible...
Also- I found a manual for the camera as well Skut so I'm very happy!

    Hi guys,
Sorry for the thread revival but I'd like to give a big thank you to Skut and Munkers for giving me their old polaroid cameras.
I recently purchased a One Step so I now have three and funds permitting, I'll buy film for the one you've given me Munkers- thanks so much for going to the trouble of taking it with you to the ride last Thursday and even having the original box! I was so excited when I got home and found the film I need for it

If anyone on PSB has any polaroid cameras sitting around (preferably in working order) they would like to get rid of or sell- please throw me a PM and I might consider buying it off you (especially the Colourpack ones from the 50's and 60's like the Model 100 and so on)
Current List of Polaroids I have:
    600 SE (I've named Gerald)
    Spectra (I've named Jimoen)
    One Step (I've named Jeremy)

    Cheers,
    Twigs
