Ended up never happening, full of shit, relationship ended & wasted 10 years.
    Hold on a second.
He was totally honest with you, told you from the start that he had had a vasectomy and you said you were OK with this. Be it your naivety that you would never want a child or the fact you thought you could change his mind in the future, you kept up this premise for a number of years as you grew closer and more in love.
Then "the time comes" and you have either changed your mind, or you have been bullshitting him all along and all of a sudden you start pressuring him for a child.
He agrees just to placate you and because he loves you but deep down he can't believe that his openness and honesty (the qualities women profess to cherish over all others in a man) has now been disregarded and his world all of a sudden becomes very difficult. He drags his feet because deep down he doesn't want this, never has and was happy and carefree in his childless honest relationship. You start to get bitter and resentful because you have decided you can hear that old biological clock ticking and he isn't playing to the newly written rules (even though remember, you "had no problems" with his vasectomy).
Then you turn around and have the temerity to call him full of shit and say the relationship ended after wasting ten years on him?
Seriously, take a look at who changed the terms of the agreement (Hint: It wasn't him).

Strange, when I had mine done they specifically said not to shave as it's not necessary

I had mine done last year through Dr Snowball at Perth Vasectomy Clinic. Highly recommend this guy, it was quick, painless and no after bruising or soreness, just a bit more sensitive to being bumped.
The Perth Vasectomy Clinic is a 'day hospital' and has fees for the procedure. They said to check with your insurance as most private health insurance covers it. I didn't bother to check, and my insurance declined payment. I would recommend getting details of the procedure and checking with your health insurance, if it doesn't cover it, or you aren't insured it will be $650 for the clinic on top of the doctor fee.

I was told not to shave, but to trim (with scissors), only need an area about the size of a 10 cent piece in the middle at the front / top of the sack. If you trim / shave the whole area, you will be itchy as hell for a week or two.

that's why I'll man up and wax it. Yes it will hurt like fuck for a few minutes, but at least the regrowth won't be anywhere near as bad.

I'm single, don't have kids, and have had the snip.
I got it done for two reasons. I am absolutely certain I don't want kids, just not my thing, and not how I want to live my life. Plus there are already far too many people in the world, and my sister has definitely had my share as well.
    So the reasons are ...
If I am getting into a relationship, I am upfront about not wanting kids, lots of guys say this though, and many girls think that if things are going well in the relationship and they really want kids, they can change the guys mind or talk them around. Evidence of this above....
So I figure it is a very different thing to say I can't have kids, instead of not wanting them. They can then decide how important that the idea of having kids is to them, and make a decision. So I will tell people fairly early on, not first date stuff, but if things look like developing, then I want it out in the open.
Second reason, I don't want accidents, I know a bunch of people who have had accidental pregnancies, generally this has still worked out for them, and one case where it wasn't so accidental and more in the field of 'entrapment' as you mentioned. This is something I also want to prevent happening.

Had a meeting with a urologist today, about $1300 for local and another $1500 if it's to be done under a general, they make it all sound very routine, $200 just for the initial consult was a bit rich.

Not totally convinced about single men having vasectomies, contraception is no longer the hit or miss thing it once was.
Are you absolutely sure vasectomy is the way to go?

wow, bulk billed initial consultation here, and procedure done by GP under sedation and local. After medicare rebate should be out of pocket under $300

Wise words Awesome Cam, from one who knows the pleasures of dealing with the CSA

Barfy, you shooting blanks yet !!! This is dragging on.
It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

That's insanely expensive, IIRC Dr Snowball was approx $500, and I was told that he was expensive.

IMHO considering general for such a simple procedure is crazy, and way too risky.

Even after the job is done, he'll still be fertile for up to a few months. The factory might get disconnected, but there will still be fishies hanging around in the supply lines for a while.

I'm pretty sure that's of no concern to me, I've managed to avoid being pregnant for this long And I have no intention of Physical or other contact with Barfy's taddies
