    What is a 'Proper Bike'?

I'm sure its nothing to do with propping it up, but Ive had more bikes than I can count on my limbs, toes and fingers and just wondering what is this 'proper bike' conspiracy on PSB that is not a Too Pitty?

Do you not have a proper accident on a Too pitty?

Do I have a small one coz I'm now riding a Too pitty?

Or if they are just learner bikes, does that mean when you dont ride one you are no longer learning?

A proper bike is one that hasn't been created with (learner) restrictions in mind.

This is a too pitty thread.

It is inferior to proper threads.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Massive overuse of a bad pun.

Once maybe, but that was bad.

You could almost carve another bike out of the chip on your shoulder.

I had 3 different 250cc bikes (and a scooter). I look back on them fondly, but don't obsess over them. You ride a bike you like, I'm not sure why you feel you have to somehow justify it. Is it for you, or for us? (because frankly we really don't waste too much sleep over it).

Whoa you sure read alot out of nothing, no chips here sunshine, no obsession, a bike is a bike to me, no justification,we all ride em.

My question comes from the 'get a proper bike bike comments' and the would like to learn the reasoning behind it is all.

Proper bike?? A bike that has a clutch, gear lever and the engine is up the front, not mounted as part of the rear suspension assembly.

    Get a proper bike.

Then you may have an opinion on the properness of a 250.

    A proper bike must be:
    a. properly sized in relation to the size of the rider.
    b. properly propelled by a proportional amount of power.

Depends on who you ask. Some don't consider any cruiser at all to be a "proper" bike. Others go by capacity, some by power, some by brand and some by componentry.

Personally I think Maxo gets the gold star for being closest without going over.

then that would mean a Honda cub or similar would be a proper bike.

The proper bike is the one that does not leave you wanting or needing more.

    It's a personal thing.
