Hiya
Hi there all...
I am fairly new to bikes, currently I ride (and forgive me for swearing) a 50 cc two stroke TGB Akros-Tek. I'll post a pic of it once I'm on the other Pc so you can laugh at me as you scream past.
At the moment, I am on my L's hoping to sit my test on the 24th April, so far the lessons look to be on track for that date. I am hoping to get a Honda VTR 250 before May, as that's when the scooter goes to my eldest lad who turns 16, not a bad birthday pressie hey??
I have ridden a scooter daily to work and back, 16 km's each way, in peak hour traffic for 2 and a quarter years now. So I am well used to bad weather, crazy tin lid drivers, but have had some good times as well. Mainly the latter has been a few rides of up to 30 odd scooters travelling together around Perth.
Originally I was looking to move up to a 250cc scooter. But once the lessons on a bike started, I was hooked. Frankly, I am not a big fan of auto cars, and the scooter was a cheap economical decision at the time, especially as no license was required. So, I guess I was ripe and bound to get hooked on a manual bike once I had actually ridden one. Add the fact the Honda is one of the most espensive 250cc's I have seen, and it matches price with the sports scooter I had my eye on, it just makes sense to go for the bike.
For work? Well I am a galley slave for a large Telecommunications company(row faster you @#$% the CEO want's to go waterskiing.. sound familiar??). It doesn't really matter which one does it? I am currently hoping to move out of that industry after nearly 10 years, as I am a bit disillusioned with it all.
Married with three kids. All of which frustrate the hell outta me, but that's what their for right??
Anywhoo, that's enough for now.. I hope to be going for a ride with some of you soon!!
Cheers,
EvilMart

cheers for all the best wished with the test. I am definately converted to the bike.
I like being able to get ahead of the traffic a bit more, and the extra poke on the weekend rides will be nice...

hi evilmart.
will you be following the lead of such greats as k-mart and walmart, and offering pure nastiness at really low prices?

yeah.. scoots definately have their place.. my instructor said I am quite good at anticipating trouble from car drivers (tin lids).. no doubt from constantly being cut off and tailgated on the scoot...
