    Hiyo~

    Hi there,
been lurking the PSB for awhile, got my L's just before Christmas and saving up for a bike at the moment. a friends going to help teach me and i figure i'll take some professional lessons around here too. (up around Subi) but i really want to get a bike first... cause id like to play with it while learning i guess .

looking for a 250 cruiser, as i like the idea of sitting more upright then racing, seeming more slanted seated positioning. (plus i'd like to do some distance riding and cruisery seems more... well cruisery ^^.)

while lurking iv been trying to learn as much as i can from you guys and girls,
i really like this site and how everyone's so friendly and helpful with each other.

id really like to get into riding and have some fun, so hope to be a bit of a decent member.

you guys and girls really help the desire for riding burn ^^.

    Hiya and welcome

Do yourself a favour and test ride a VTR250 plus the GPX's aren't really slanted

    Lurk harder

Two of the more popular 250s, the VTR and the GPX do not have overly sporty or forward seating positions.

Very useful info here: New to Riding? Looking for a 250? A guide for n00bs..

    Oh fkn snap Stoney

true true, i do like the vtr250 also, but i am on about the shiny-ness factor too. cause im stupid. id like a virago i think... i wouldnt mind a vtr though at all.
    i like the look alot.
realise it sounds stupid though, it all would depend on how they ride though.
iam of average to short height btw, 5.8... not sure how that will play.
i have been on a couple bikes as a pillion but never really driven myself.
this will be my first actual license too... i dont like car's too much to be honest...

@saint, aww come on... you guys attack eachother just cause you really love eachother

iv reread that page often when im dreaming of riding ^^ thanks though saint.

    Welcome

The VTRs can be made to look very good
    mods for my VTR250

That being said, go to a few different shops, have a sit on a few, and see what feels best.

its good to have a few wants i think. i dont want to say to myself "i want this one only" just because of looks.
so im definatly going to try a few and find whats the best ride for me.

just gotta save the money >< damn it.

Please don't buy a Virago. From my personal experience I can tell you that it is very light, not suitable for long distance rides at all, frankly speaking not even suitable for >80KmPH zones. Makes riding a nightmare especially under windy conditions. Check out this link

I wish I had, before picking up the Virago. Your first bike better be a good bike or you'll lose interest in riding.

    All the best.

Thanks for that, exactly what i wanted to know.
Im not interested in a bike that is not going to be comfortable for long rides.
    Thanks again.
