I guess im new here, better get started...

My name is Craig and im a strapping big 28 year old lad who finally got around to getting a licence and buying a bike.

Hi Everyone, been lurking around here for a bit gathering info, and now Ive passed My R-E today I thought it was time to make my presence known.

Went for my test at Morley today just after lunch and past on my first attempt. I was a bit nervous due to the fact my E-stops were a bit here or there (couple of stoppies lol), but when u meet me and picture me on a Yamaha Scorpio 225 you'll understand ( i had to be extra ham fisted yet subtle on the brakes at the same time lol). A little humuor with the examiner certainley helped put me at ease. I warned him if I ever find footage on you tube of my test....... LOL I didnt need to worry though as the E stop ended up being smooth.

I wasnt keen on doing the test in Morley but it was the quickest place to get in. I was laughing afterwards about the fact that when he gave me my result and said i done pretty well and 'got through today' but that I had a curious lack of right side head checks when changing tyre tracks. I was laughing to my self thinking now if i was 17 again I would have probably argued the point and made excuses trying to get a perfect score.... well a few years go by and I just say thanks, a pass is a pass plain and simple, thank you very much sir.

Just a few years back i quite liked the Honda Hornet CB900, and kicked my self when i didn't buy one back when they went on runout for like $10500 ride away. (Cant believe the CB1000R is like $18000 onroad compared to the runout hornet, but then again, the cb1000r is one nice piece of kit.
Had the odd ride of a couple of bikes in the past and me and the Brother in law always went bush with his KTM 400 when i used to go up and visit. So please dont flame me for buying a big bike straight up, Yes I will need shadowed for 12 months but that doesnt worry me, and again when u meet me (6'5 and wearing a bit extra) you might understand my thinking.
So a bloke at work was showing me the Kawasaki catalogue over lunch one day, so i popped in to check out the Z1000 in the flesh. When I was told they were only $12990 ride away I made some enquiries finding suitable insurance noting I was R-E class, and then I bought one and it now sits in my garage.

I now hope to enjoy the pleasure of cruising around (albeit shadowed) on my new beast (im a bit of a sook so dont wanna go hell for leather, I just like the big bore torque).

And yeah, I think thats a long enough intro, meet you guys out there one day.

    Cheers

Yeah I spotted the shadow thread early on, thought i better get past my test before i started bugging anyone other than a riding school.

Btw this forum is well laid out, I like how much info is easily found for newbies.

My fears of Morley were unfounded, I found the examiner gave clear easy to understand instructions and pointed out what to do if I got confused or seperated (which is basically pull over and he will come to you, even if he has to go round the block, u just wait by the side of the road and that it wouldnt be the end of the world), but yeah his instructions were easily followed so no such problems.

Nice ride, what colour is it? I sense that awkward moment you get when two people are wearing the same clothes.
