My name is Craig and im a strapping big 28 year old lad who finally got around to getting a licence and buying a bike.
Hi Everyone, been lurking around here for a bit gathering info, and now Ive passed My R-E today I thought it was time to make my presence known.
Went for my test at Morley today just after lunch and past on my first attempt. I was a bit nervous due to the fact my E-stops were a bit here or there (couple of stoppies lol), but when u meet me and picture me on a Yamaha Scorpio 225 you'll understand ( i had to be extra ham fisted yet subtle on the brakes at the same time lol). A little humuor with the examiner certainley helped put me at ease. I warned him if I ever find footage on you tube of my test....... LOL I didnt need to worry though as the E stop ended up being smooth.
I wasnt keen on doing the test in Morley but it was the quickest place to get in. I was laughing afterwards about the fact that when he gave me my result and said i done pretty well and 'got through today' but that I had a curious lack of right side head checks when changing tyre tracks. I was laughing to my self thinking now if i was 17 again I would have probably argued the point and made excuses trying to get a perfect score.... well a few years go by and I just say thanks, a pass is a pass plain and simple, thank you very much sir.
Just a few years back i quite liked the Honda Hornet CB900, and kicked my self when i didn't buy one back when they went on runout for like $10500 ride away. (Cant believe the CB1000R is like $18000 onroad compared to the runout hornet, but then again, the cb1000r is one nice piece of kit.
Had the odd ride of a couple of bikes in the past and me and the Brother in law always went bush with his KTM 400 when i used to go up and visit. So please dont flame me for buying a big bike straight up, Yes I will need shadowed for 12 months but that doesnt worry me, and again when u meet me (6'5 and wearing a bit extra) you might understand my thinking.
So a bloke at work was showing me the Kawasaki catalogue over lunch one day, so i popped in to check out the Z1000 in the flesh. When I was told they were only $12990 ride away I made some enquiries finding suitable insurance noting I was R-E class, and then I bought one and it now sits in my garage.
I now hope to enjoy the pleasure of cruising around (albeit shadowed) on my new beast (im a bit of a sook so dont wanna go hell for leather, I just like the big bore torque).
And yeah, I think thats a long enough intro, meet you guys out there one day.
Cheers
