G'day people of PSB,
I'm back into street riding after a long - 15 years! - break, but have been riding dirt bikes that whole time. After a few beers I'll even admit to having ridden a scooter now and then over the years ... Absolutely loving riding a bike again, anyway.
The only thing I forgot last time I had a road bike was to get a license, so I've sorted that part out now. Yeah, don't worry - I cringe that I did that as well. Being older and wiser, I'm even riding a bike within the right class (R-E) for my license - the venerable* ole ZZR 250. Mates might tell me it's boring, but when your roadcraft is as rusty as mine I'll take boring over binned.
I have to say, PSB was a great help when it came to the procedures of getting the license, taking the practical test etc. I was able to do the learner's test, book an appointment for the practical at City West a week after that, and 3 weeks later have another couple of letters to add to my DL all from mainly the info on this site.
I'm in the last couple months of finishing a computer science degree having gone to uni as a mature-age student after having a variety of non-descript jobs. Gotta say though, being a courier for 5 or so years allowed me to get a good view of idjits on the road and what to look out for.
As with other interests I have, I'm always happy to swap my computer/IT/networking knowledge and time for (in this case) the motorcycle knowledge and time of others.
Laters.
*YMMV

G'day,
You will find PSB is much more then a motorcycle forum, we discuss topics that range from political topics to lonely hearts. There's quite a few I.T people around and I expect you will make more great additions to the Healthy Wealthy and Wise threads.

Cheers, Wedge. Thanks for the heads up about the Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise threads, looks interesting beyond motorcycles.
As for the lonely hearts thread, Phildo's line on the last page - "This is why I try and keep my mail order brides under the $1,000 threshold. They're bloody ugly and don't live very long, but at least they're cheap." - lets me know I'm going to enjoy this forum
