Been riding a whole 4 months!!!

Bought a 2005 Honda VTR250 and I love it, never ridden anthing else though; even the bike I learnt on was a VTR. See pics. Look forward to cathcing up with some of you on one of those nice quiet 250 rides. I am doing the tuning course at AHG on 12th Feb.

See you,

Good to see more 2fiddy riders wanting to get out and about. Any track day is worth it, you learn heaps and get to get more out of your bike.

Besides, any ride is 2fiddy friendly, so long as you RIDE WITHIN YOUR LIMITS (and the bikes). Don't be a hero and will be good.

Hey Tim - Go the VTR250!

The AHG course is great fun - well worth the bucks. With the VTR you can stay in 3rd all round the track if you want and just concentrate on the line, or change down to second on the turns and fark your back tyre like I did!

Thanks for the tip, Tiger.

Don't use 2nd on the course - got it. I already had a small lock-up at the Ride Right course and have nice little spot on the tyre to show for it.

Hey Tim - I'm not saying don't use 2nd, just be careful not to lock it up if you do - which is what I did and it cost me a new rear tyre (Thanks to Jono at Lloyd Chapmans for looking after me )

What I found was that I could just stay in 3rd on my VTR250 and concentrate on the line. You don't get much kick out of the corners but there is enough torque to keep it rolling along at a reasonable pace. On the main straight you get to wind it out pretty much all of the way in 3rd before you have to ease off for the chicane that is set up. Of course your results may differ and you might find something different works for you - but I am certain you will have fun!
