    mid life crisis noob

Hello friendly people, just want to say hi and introduce myself so I can get warm fuzzies when you all welcome me here! I stopped riding about 5 years ago after a nasty accident on my R6. After starting a new job a few months back and experiencing road rage almost every day in my thirsty 4WD I decided it was time to get back on the saddle.

I had dropped into my local Honda shop a little while ago and eyed off the new 600 hornet but nerves got the better of me as I recalled cartwheeling my R6 down the road at 180. I had some time to kill a few weeks back and dropped into the same shop and noticed a new CB400f giving me the eye on the showroom. After a brief chat with the salesman he was giving me the key and putting a dealer plate on it. After 1/2 dozen turns I decided this was what I needed to get me to/from work and signed the paperwork to pick it up on my 30th birthday!

That was the middle of last month and due to work I have only put 500km on the odometer. I had to disregard all the criticism of riding a bike with such little power but the fact that I do 25km each way to work in a 60 zone says to me that I made the right choice.

Now that my intro is over, how do I get to one of your social gatherings?

It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

Welcome. Those CB400s seem like nice bikes. Sensible choice. I guess cartwheeling an R6 at 180kph and surviving would have been a bit of an attitude-adjusting experience!

Our Honda Riders Club has a monthly run on the first Sat of every month. Next ride 6 Dec. Meet at the Honda Shop Midland at 9.45am for a 10am start if you want to come for a ride.

Check out the Learner Newbie Rides, reasonably gentle pace and a very social ride nearly every week.

Other rides going all the time, too.

Welcome to PSB, the cure to your crisis.
