Hi People of Perth.
I got here through a mad man that posted a link in another forum after we discussed the Lane splitting issue.
Below is a little bit about me.......ok, it's maybe a little bit more then a little bit but then again, I am not the youngest and there is a lot to be told
I am in Australia since 1986 and my plan was to travel through in pursuit of knowledge to further my career.
I have been riding bikes since 1979 and have gotten back on a bike two years ago after a long break due to the usual rubbish like house, kid, job blah, blah blah.....
I started out on a Kwaka Z1R back in 79 which I had for 2 Years. When Kawa brought out the GPZ 1100 in 1981 I had to have one and I worked my arse off in extra jobs to get it.
An awesome bike it was, got a faring put on from the beginning and she looked a treat. I was a member of a motorcycle club in southern Bavaria in Germany. We followed the GP Circuit around Europe and were out and about every second week. We had about 30 members 50/50 Honda and Kawasaki's. Our hero was a 250/ 350 cc racer by the name of Anton Mang, 5 times world champion.
Naturally a Kawasaki man but he finished his career on a Honda (I was heart broken).
Every Year I saved my pennies to upgrade to the latest model, and my last one was the 83 Z1000R or ELR as it is known to Kawasaki fans, best bike at the time.
Unfortunately my job as a chef (if you haven't guessed that by now

) took me overseas to Bermuda and the Caribbean. I was shattered when my request to take my ELR to Bermuda was denied with the reason that the largest bike allowed on the island was 100cc

. I ended up selling my baby and landed on Suzi TS 100

arrr....The top speed allowed on the island was.....20 miles ph or 35 km/h!!. Needless to say I received several bookings and donated large numbers of dollars to the local traffic branch. When I first came to Sydney I rented lots of bikes from a place in Greenacre to tour on weekends with some guys from work. I met my Wife in Sydney and her brother was racing super-bikes in local club races. He got me my first bike here in oz, a GSX 1100 E which he tickled a little, just because he could and he loved to see the smile on my face after the first run.
Again, the job took me to many places around Australia including the Whhitsunday Islands and later to Vietnam, so the bike eventually went again.
Now I am settled (i think) in WA.
I scanned the local paper in May 2004, after feeling the midlife crisis itch and discovered this 1977 Z1000. She looked good and after selling my story to the wife she was mine. I loved the 70's and even more so the 80's and now I have my very own piece of it in my garage. This is the first one, I am on the lookout for more of them and eventually even a new one, perhaps a descendant of the old Z1000R, the ZRX!!
My intention is to ditch the car this Year and go back on a bike full time.
You're never to old to have fun on a bike!!
Cheers CC
