Smile New to PSB and needing some advice on riding boots

    Hi, I'm Traceyanne

I am just learning to ride. We bought a Kawasaki GPX for my first bike. Unfortunately, due to my height, I can only just touch the ground with the ball of my feet. There are no lowering kits available for that model, so Kawasaki have suggested shaving the seat down. I am able to slightly tilt the bike to have one foot flat. However, due to the incline on my driveway, I need to have both feet on the ground to manoeuvre the bike.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest some thick soled boots available to give me some extra height. The thicker the better http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/foru...cons/icon7.png .

    Kind regards
    Traceyanne

    Hi, Traceyanne..and welcome to PSB

You could try Doc Marten boots, they have a fairly thick sole, roughly about an inch. And they are a good sturdy boot as well. Not the cheapest boot, but they will last years!. Brands > Dr Martens > Women

Take your boots to Reid's Bootmakers in Bassinghall St, East Vic Park, part with $60-100 and come away with an extra couple of inches, there are a couple of threads that deal with this, I know at least 5 ladies that have had it done and they are well pleased with the results

An old thread with helpful stuff in it

    Size does matter

    Welcome Traceyanne,

Stoneville is onto it! Funny enough I met a random girl today, on our bikes at the traffic lights, another 3 sets down the road I talked her into lunch hahaha.

Anyways you wouldn't beleive it but she had the same stature issues and had done what Stoneville suggested. Sounds like asafe bet.

If not, Military disposal stores, I wear my jungle Army boots 'Taipans'. Wickedly comfortable, epic support, kangaroo hide and a nice thick soul with a heal, similar to what you would get at, say..... 'Total Work Wear' - Work boots ect but not as gay ;op

Either way you will figure it all out, hope you enjoy the sight.
