    No more FIFO!!

    Hi guys/ladies,

Just started my new job back in perth after 7 years of FIFO work up north. The problem is i live in Baldivis and the office is at the domestic airport so the 100km round trip a day is getting old. May as well make it enjoyable! So after many years of will do yeah eventually i have my learners permit and am in the market for a 250. Within the next month i will have finally decided on what bike i want to get and will have the new patio paid for so coin for the bike will be available. Still umming and ahhhhing over the 250gtr hyosungs as the bad comments i have heard are well.....bad. Or the reliable and sexy looking Kwaka ninjas.

Have a mate just around the corner with 10yrs+ riding experience whos gonna be my shadow after a few lesssons as i will have to learn not to stick my leg out after years of MX riding.

Anyone in the baldivis region keen for a riding partner (be my shadow or learners with your shadow and mine) in the next month i wil be keen and able.

I do a rotaional roster on a 3 days 3 nights 6 off so im all over the shop but that makes me hopefully more available to meet and ride with a broad range of riders.

Hope to hear from you all soon

    G'day chief, welcome aboard.

I don't want to seem forward, but don't do the Hyosung.

In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Yes, don't buy the Hyosung... They murder babies and run over old women.

    Oh, and Welcome

The hyo is better than the Kwaka... The VTR250 is also a good bike. CBR250RR is the way to go.

Ok now im all confused. LOL

Have looked at alot of 250's now and i am lost.

Like alot of people i have seen write its comes down to preference. I like the sporty look better and not so much the naked. Will be doing bulk freeway riding in early morn late night. Theres just to much to choose from. Im finding second hand 250's bloody expensive! I understand there a necessity but god even old bikes with high Kms are pricy. It seems better to go for a newer bike and pay only around 1g more

Basically everyone talks shit about everyone elses ride. A lot of hyo bashing from people who have never ridden them etc etc. Go ride the different bikes, choose one that you like and a give a big "Fuck you" to everyone else and their opinion on your choice of bike.

Bingo, you're on the right track there. Get something new and good for $5-6k, or something completely clapped out for $4-5k.

PS. that rules out the CBR. While they were one of the better 250's 15-20 years ago, they are showing their age and levels of abuse by now.

In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Yep! Over inflated 250 market in WA, if they ever decide to bring in LAMS that should even out evntually...

My CBR is only 12 years old and it is still going very hard at 70 000k. Rode it to Melbourne and I have never had a real issue with it.

The funny thing is my 12 year old bike is still faster than all the new 250s (not including 2 strokes).

Haha how does that figure? having never ridden one im a bit weary about them. Also the prob with only having L's i cant test ride them either. Just the usual story! I want to ride them to see how they feel but i cant.

Hi mate and welcome, I've had a hyo before and other than the seat was uncomfortable for me it was a great bike and never had any problems(but it was the 650 cruiser one).
I have a ZZR250 at home that my son is getting his lic on and that is a great little bike as well, I quite enjoy going for a ride on it still even though I have the gsxr1000 in the shed.

Any of the 250's will be fine for your 100k round trip but try and get a feel of them all by sitting on them and seeing if the riding position will be comfortable for your trips.
