Old fart returning to the road

I'm so old that I used to own bikes with things called "kick starts"

Anyhoo, getting back on the road after an absence of a few years.

Quick question - what's the go with speed cameras these days? Do they have rear facing ones now - I know that they have some at traffic lights, but are any of the portable ones rear-facing?

Not that I'd ever speed of course, it's just an academic curiosity....

Yes some of the mobile ones are rear facers now. They also have them concealed in vehicles on the side of the road. Welcome BTW

LOL, Welcome back old man, I must from your century as I used to kick my bike into life. And yes, the pricks have rear facing cameras now, I got done not so long ago on red hill with the bastards hiding in the bushes.Take care out there......don't know how long you were off bikes, but I can tell you that car drivers did not get smarter while you were away.

Only a few years actually - my RS fried it's wiring harness and I just hadn't got around to rewiring it. Actually I still haven't. But I've just got myself a K so I'm back in the saddle.
But I just discovered this forum - it's so much more fun than the 4Wd forum.

Well there seems to be a collection of old farts on here now. I'm an old kick starter as well. And there weren't any such things as internet forums or even PC when I first rode. We used to have these things called typewriters and pin up notice boards to post up interesting topics. Digital watches were all the rage, though.

So from one old fart to another, Welcome!!!

Still own a bike with a kick start. I'm not sure about what qualifies as old around here though I don't doubt I raised the average age a few points. Welcomer to PSB
