Riding again after 6 month enforced break

I've been riding bikes for 20y now. Bikes I've owned are:

    ZX6, Fireblade 929, Bandit 1200, NC30/VFR400 race bike, TRX850, RGV250 race bike, Z1000 (2006 model I think) and now GS1000ST. Probably missed one.

I've generally owned sports bikes, but really like all bikes, and I'd love a try on a Harley (although suspect I'd be disappointed). I was into the trackday thing for a few years in the UK, and ended up doing a couple of seasons of racing in the UK with BMCRC and then moved to WA and did a season on the proddy 250 2 strokes. I was never that good to be honest but loved the racing thing. My best lap at Barbagello was a 68s on a 250, but generally did 69/70s. Sad that I would remember. My best ever lap of any circuit ever was a 1:25 at Snetterton on my NC30.

Now own a GS1000. Not long after buying it a long running dispute between me and the authorities about what constitutes safe driving/riding behaviour was resolved by me not driving or riding anything for 6 months at the authorities suggestion. I've been back riding for about 2 weeks now; my recent encounter with a biking subculture of Perth has been documented on another forum.

Riding quite a bit at the moment. I've had to do quite a bit of work (and have had a bit of help too) getting my bike to start on a reliable basis and to run on all 4 cylinders all the time, but I seem to have resolved this by replacing most of the ignition system and replacing the starter motor which I wore out trying to get the starting thing working.

Love my bike; secretly yearn for a Ducati 848, but I've seen too many deaths on racetracks (not in Perth) to race seriously let alone not seriously to start again considering I've got 3 kids now. And I need my hands/arms to work.

Hopefully meet up with some of you soon.
