    Yello!

    Hey PSB,

My name's Will and after getting back on my Mountain Bike for what's been a while I'm already wanting to go a bit faster than that.. Haven't got my R-E yet though. :/

Anyway, here I am. Nice to meet you all!

p.s. If you need some help reading some Japanese or are trying to find a manual online, hit me up. I'll see what I can do.

I was originally looking at a CBR125R but for the cost of a new one, I'm better off getting a 250R.. cheers!

Not really, but it just depends on when I'm ready to buy. Reliability's also an issue (and getting it checked before buying) but for newer bikes I guess that wouldn't too be much of a problem.

Plenty of reliable second hand 250s to be had, and im sure there is at least one PSBer with the knowledge and willingness to tag along to come look at a bike for ya... You can easily save 3k+ just by buying a bike thats a few years old have a look in the "for sale" section

    Welcome wiru!
I have an imported fzr250 that the only manual I have been able to find is in Japanese - so may have to take you up on your offer in the future if bike causes me any grief.

Sure, I'm not even JLPT certified, so it'll be a stretch for me, but it'd be a pretty nice way to learn some new Kanji Characters.. :]

Yeah, for city commutes though I can't see me needing anything more than a 250..

Dad owned a CBX back in the day, decided to downgrade to a 600cc bike when he got caught speeding in first.

After looking at what bikes like the R6 can do, it makes me a little hesitant to jump on one. Then again, when I get me R-E, that'll change

Yea mate there nothing wrong with sticking with the 250 but like you said once you get it you'll want more. I'm only going up to a 400 but it's a motard so different style and only single cylinder.
I have mates that are like o you have to get a 1000 but that's just cause they have little dicks.
( no offense to all you guys with 1000s of coarse :p)

    Hi Will, welcome to PSB

If you can affordn a new bike then why not. You can save money on 2nd hand, just get it checked out before you take it home.

What ever you get, the most inportant thing is you must look good on it.

    have fun.

Engine oil and new tyres are cheaper than new bikes and time in hospital
