So you'd see why I was surprised. cranked up the damper and the front end lightness then caused an oscillation along the bike that was really scary. Went past another rider at 250 who saw how much it was moving. At 280 plus, it was doing the donald cambell. Forward weight as the front skittered about light as hell thinking I was going to speed wobble/crash. Previous to that, probably the most stable, albeit stiff suspension, high speed bike I've ridden. It would track a great line at high speed.

But hey, your doing up a girls bike, so high speed wont be a problem.

With these types of things if you had the money when these things pop up you'd end up with a warehouse full of junk, sadly. Cheap RSV's, cheap MV's etc etc..... Sometimes not having the moola right there is a blessing in disguise!

Don't try make an 848 into a street fighter! Just be patient until you can afford the real deal. 848's aren't that expensive from the get go unless you want to spruce it up. I have spent so much more money on my 848 to the point of where I could of bought a 1198 instead so take it from me and just be patient.

That streetfighter 1098 above looks like someone has raped it... HARD!!

Plus the parts to fit ducati's are real expensive and I have been caught out with some really really shit quality stuff when trying to get a bargain - for example I spent $300 on some carbon fibre air box covers (Small aesthetic mod) and the quality was terrible..
So if you want to mod up your bike with quality gear your going to be spending so much coin that you will probably have been able to buy the streetfighter had you been patient

[QUOTE=Pazzo;1835120]That comment from a 999 owner has me laughing in my sleep

Hahaha funny as, when read this I laughed so hard I nearly shat myself. Honestly if I want a ducati superbike that didn't stand out from the crowd and was as common as a gixxer I too would have bought a red 996 (no offense Goofy). Fortunately for me I love the look of the 999 as it does stand out like dogs balls, apart from the fact it's technically a better bike in all aspects. Don't get me wrong I like the 916 variants but I love the 999.

Yeah it's subjective and all but the 916 shape is a thoroughly flogged horse now and the 1098 is really taking it into HD "dole out the same old slop but find a way to make it cheaper" territory

Pretty much, no ti rods, quick release fasteners, adjustable steering head, adjustable footpegs or adjustable tank and seat units (for us single seat models). Drop the price and quality and make them as common as fish and chips. Pretty soon they'll all have wet clutches for all the the limp wristed people.

Back on topic just save up and buy a secondhand streetfighter.
