    Chronology of Updates for Cagiva-Based
    Ducati 900 SS, SL (I through V), SP/CR (USA only), & FE
    (for Model Years 1992-1998)
    NOTES (table updated as of December 2005):
    1. Improvements/Updates are carried over in subsequent model years (i.e.: an improvement/update for
    the SP in one year is carried over to the SP’s thereafter).
    2. Some model years were sold in more than 1 year (i.e.: ‘94/‘95 SP/CR’s were sold from 1993 - 1995).
    3. SP/CR’s were only available in the USA market.
    4. FE’s outside the USA were model year 1997, while FE’s for the USA were model year 1998.
    5. * Indicates a mid-production update.
    6. Remember that 900 SS motorbikes were parts-bin specials, so there will always be some variances!

    Ha ha! I knew that there were always a few bitzers in between model year changes but didn't know it was that bad!

    My Laverda had an allen key under the passenger seat to get the seat cushion off to get at the real toolkit.... my 999R toolkit is in a pocket in the right hand side fairing panel and you have to take that panel off to get at the toolkit. It has Dzues fasteners. But come to think of it - the toolkit is actually sitting in a cupboard at home. It hasn't ever been in that pocket in the fairing as knowing my luck it'd put too much weight on the carbon fibre and make it crack at the mounts lol.
