sorry, was called to the resque of a fellow PSBer who broke down on a japper!
When light will shine the camera will come out, but I doubt that pics will do the state of the actual bike justice.
I thought it was a new one but alas it is NOT.
    1998 900SS fuely with the SS1000DS bodywork.

Here it is waiting for a ray of sunshine

    Well these are the changes that were made between the Carburated and fuel injected models of the good old 900SS;
Revised Cam profile, more duration to off set the fall of of power over 7500rpm.
    Remus cans.
Factory claim 5 HP gained overall with all engine mods.
    Rake reduced by 1%
    Trail down 3mm
Shorter wheel base because of it by 15mm.
Showa front forlks with better internals same as on 996.
Ohlin rear shock with more adjustmens parameters.
Brakes as on the 916 Brembo's 4 pot 'series ORO'
    Master cilinder as on 916
electrics on handle bars and brake/clutch set up same as 916
    levers are the adjustable ones
Lighter 17" wheels and bigger front wheel spindle.
    New gear selector mechanism.
And the loved or hated new body work/tank dashboard configuration.

    Hey fellas

The geo changes to the later injected ss is due to a 10mm longer rear shock. I put the ds1000 swingarm on my '88 model as well as a shock for one as well (FG specialties ) with ride height adjustment. Add 998 forks that are shorter (can't remember how much ) and you get much sharper handling. I haven't had head shake problems though I do have a steering dampener. It really speeds things up in the corners. The lighter weight 5 spoke marchesinis from a s4 monster no doubt help. Stock '88 - '97 wheels are very heavy.

You guys do know of the German aftermarket business found at Ducati Kmna ? It is the holy grail for Dukes in general and have many high quality parts for the ss. Be ready with a big fat wallet !

    Ha Ha!!

Shit I was jusr planning to keep the bulk of the bike stock...
    Carbs, Cams, Suspension, Gearing, Pipes....

Sounds like the 944cc kit is out the window on this bike.

Might have to get me another 900SS (Cheap!!) and build up a killer
    v2!!!

    I keep forgetting the 999R!!!!
    Phuck!!!

first the running issues have to be sorted and fraser is doing that as we speak.
    then,.....
single seat and exhaust system running underseat is the plan!
but first want to finnish the Suzi smoker and still a wee bitta work on that.

this is what it is going to look like.
Bazza's last racing bike in 500cc GP.
together with the Kenny Roberts and the Rothmans Honda will make a great display for me to reminise over.

Cant wait to see when complete!!!

    Was this televised -
Schwantz pleased to give Moto2 bike a try | The Official MotoGP Website

Schwantz will be back on track on Sunday to fire up the Indianapolis crowd with some more display laps before the MotoGP race on the Suzuki RGV500, which he rode to glory in his World Championship winning season in 1993 and which has not been ridden since that year.

there was moto 2 coverage on one hd before the gp

kenny roberts took the tz750 out for a spin, just putted around

kevin took the rgv500 out for a run, gave it some herbs which was good. vid on motogp.com. This is his own bike that suzuki gave to him at the end of the 93 championship winning season.
