94 900SS, what oil do you guys use?

Hi All, just need some info as to what oil you would recommend for the 900SS, 1994 model. New to the Ducati world. Any info on other maintenance stuff would be very much appreciated. Cheers
Would also love to get out on a ride with other SS owners but need a shadow.

You're going to get a few different answers to this one.

I use Shell Advance VSX. A habit started years ago mainly to support those companies that supported motor sport in Australia. The engine is a basic unit so you'll find quite a few other oils will be suitable.

Using Rock Oil semi 15w50, the lighter grade makes for an easier start, the 50 is there for when things get hot (which they will, with a big air-cooled twin... )
Motul 5100 15w50 would be another choice, also Mobil 1 15w50 if you can get it? No harm in running a full synth, but the tolerances in the air-cooled lumps are fairly loose so a semi-synth will work just as well.
