996/748 - What to look out for?
I'll be checking out a couple of 996/748s over the next few days/weeks, and am doing some research into what kind of things I should be looking for.
The bike will be used as a daily (and obviously the fun stuff). There are a number of knowledgable individuals here, so I was hoping for opinions on whether this is first of all plausible (a Ducati of this vintage being a reliable daily), and also specific issues/items to look for a check over during inspection.
The two main contenders are a 748s (38xxx km) and 996 (31 xxx km), both 2000 models.

Service history, belts, valve clearances, rocker replacements.
Other usual stuff, drilled plugs for lock wiring, bent or scratched components..

There is a Red 999 sitting at Frasers at the moment - may also be worth a look.
Was only window shopping, so couldnt actually see the km's and price on the ticket, but it looked pretty clean!

Yeah I've been reading up on the Ducati forum. Biggest issue seems to be is the rocker arms have been replaced with non faulty items or not.
Thanks guys.
