Well I hope it works out for them.
Really would like to see 3 teams battling for the win.

Agree, to many repsols feasting on yamaha's as of late!.

Was the whole issue about the monoque frame just about carbon fiber properties? or the actual shape of the monoque frame that wasn't optimal for front end feel. If the later, isn't this a big stab at their new 1199?.
I'm guessing Carbon fibre itself, otherwise they probably would have been able to fix it a lot easier.
Either way I'm glad they pulled their heads out of the sand.
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.
I would suggest that the properties of the CF would dictate (up to a point) the design of the monocoque.

Why don't they just go back to a trellis chassis? They know what they are doing with those, and have got a lot of good results over many years with that style of chassis.
This department requires no physical fitness program, as everyone gets more than enough exercise jumping to conclusions, flying off the handle, running down the boss, dodging responsibility, and pushing their luck.

I agree with Jafa. The trellis was a know quantity for Duc and if they didn't like it fridays results a new one could be knocked up by a dude with a welder over night. New rules prevent that now but they could have a rack of chassis's ready pre-season.
The Pic from the article looks a bit photoshop for some reason.
Seems to be a lot of space around the front tyre.....

Compare photos side by side, frame is differant for sure.....look around the leg region, the test bike has a large section of black frame where the old bike has motor and fairing?
the old trellis bike still didnt have a frame, per say, I cant see production twins ever going down this route.
Well it is coming for aragon apparently http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/raci...gp/#more-25043

Am I missing something here?? I always thought race bikes were one cock per machine.
Anyhoo, I wonder how much abuse a CF frame could take?? At least with aluminium you can re-straighten a frame if need be (up to a point).
Maybe the resins won't set rock hard ? A malleable frame will at least have a little "give", you'd also have to assume the frame would fair better after a crash.

I'd expect the rear to look compressed if it was acceleration, apparently ducati haven't gone to a alli beam frame they are using alli inserts for the front end in a CF frame. Carbon has been used in the aviation industry as structural members for at least 35 years carbon gliders were been built in the late 70's so there is plenty of information about fatigue life and the like its just adapting it to the vagarities of a race bike that seems to be the issue.
It doesn't sound like an aluminium beam frame at the moment. The articles seem to indicate Ducati are still using their frameless concept, they've just made a new airbox from aluminium rather than carbon.
