come on guys who works on aprilias apart from Rick Gill in Ozy pk
20000 is not a big service for an RSVR. Major things are change plugs and air filter if standard, oil and filter and rest is just normal routine lubes. I had some work done on mine at Moto Pro but not servicing. I also beleive Thunderbikes in Bassendeen as they deal in Moto guzzi so are familiar with Italian bikes
cheers bud for the reply any1 else know of anymore![]()
I think that the Scooter Shop does Apes as well. I guy I know has his RSV4R serviced by them

Might be worth talking to Protwin. Thunderbikes ring them first and ask nicely they tend to service Aprilia's for existing customers, they are equipped with the FI diagnostics and the like.
awesome cheers guys
I had Justin at pro twin service my tuono last time she got done I would highly recommend him for work on these bikes
A motorcycle is a joy machine. It's a machine of wonders, a metal bird, a motorized prosthetic. It's light and dark and shiny and dirty and warm and cold lapping over each other; it's a conduit of grace, it's a catalyst for bonding the gritty and the holy.
Send Optimal a PM - he had drama's with Rick Gill (and that was over a warranty issue) and wont go back there - he uses someone else now I think - but cant remember who...

I too would be interested in the outcome of this, need someone to look after my Falco if required
They are simple to work on.
I have 93,000 ks on my Falco now and done all but the first (previous owner) service. The valves have been checked at proper intervals and in all that time I have adjusted 1 valve. It was still (just) in spec, but I was fussy. Valve shims are obtainable from Precision shims PRECISION SHIMS AUSTRALIA | INLET SHIMS | EXHAUST SHIMS | VALVE SHIMS
Look here for oil change info. Aprilia Falco Oil Change The RSV is similar in procedure except for fairing removal etc.
It is rare that clutches need work if it`s post 02. Before that they were a bit fussy on oil. Dont use full sinthetic and you should be ok. Basicly the motors are bombproof. I have never had to open up anything apart from the valve covers. I have bolted on many tasty bit that make improved riding though. Ohlins etc.
I have done 1/2 dozen trakdays, heaps of fast southwest trips, 8000 ks around Europe, Tassie, PI, Nubergring.......
It may yet get to IOM tt in 2013.
Great source of info here ApriliaForum sponsored by AF1 Racing, inc. - Powered by vBulletin and here AF1 Racing / Apriliaforum.com : Aprilia Performance Parts and Accessories
If you want to catch up with me I can guide you around your bike if you like. I dont get on PSB often now days, but pm me with a number and I will call you.
Cheers.

Went down to Causeway Aprilia today to get an insurance quote on my gear and while there decided to put the word on them about servicing. The sales guy rang the service manager / technician to get him out to discuss my "Aprilia questions" . I basically told the story of my one service at RG's and queried his background in the field. Shaun is his name and he worked on Aprilias in the UK. He said they sent him for the training and it was like going home. He also said he loves Aprilia's and he ran a Mille for years. I was told he is the only one they let touch Aprilia's also. He has worked on Falco's and Caponords so both mine are rightif something goes pear shaped but I did specifically mention the 2 models. He knows the Rotax well and thinks like myself that it is a great engine. He also services Victory's as well.
Open day down there tomorrow right? might cruz down for a look see before the inferno really get humming. :-)
I use Kamahl at K-Tec for both my Ape and the MV, he's rebuilt the engine on the Ape and been really happy with Kamahl.
I found Nick, the mechanic at Rick Gill was pretty good too...but I don't deal with Rick Gill anymore due to him not honouring the warranty on my MV.
I use the AF1 forum linked above as a source of info and parts (parts are much cheaper (even with expensive shipping) and way, way quicker than local suppliers).

Spoke to Shaun yesterday & booked the RSV4 In for 20k service, he assured me that he Is the only person that works on the bike & seems to be a nice bloke, better customer relations than RG, but that's not hard.
Will give opinion of service recieved next week.
Previously had minor warranty work & service carried out by Frank @ Allbikes In North Perth, can't speak highly enough about service recieved there, Top Bloke.

I'm not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings,
I'm a drunk, I go to parties.

As it was realtively recent took the RSVR to Bikers Den in Bunbury happy with the service tell them you are comming first though so they can bits they may need in (they have a navigator BTW).
Harvey community radio has a motorcycling show listen over the web here www.harveycommunityradio.com.au ,Facebook here http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Mo...34691323302991 yes I am the goose that hosts it.
Went to see Cawesway Aprilia today just before closing. Like Tom above, I asked about the mechanic they use. I met Shaun and was pleased to see he had knowledge of the Rotax powered Aprilia`s.
All Tom said above I would agree with. He seems decent.
I dont plan I will need him as I DIY. But, nice to know we have a guy now who has operated on them before and LIKES them !
No excuses to get an Ape now if you have always thought about it but was put off for any reason.
