Hey Guys, anyone here own or at least ridden an RSV4?
Just curious as the thought of one sitting in the garage
is gaining a bit of momentum.

I'm not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings,
I'm a drunk, I go to parties.

Rode an RSV4 Factory on an Aprilia & Moto Guzzi Demo Ride Day last Sunday at Shearwater MC in Northern Tassie, together with the new Tuono.
The RSV4 Factory was fantastic fun - especially using the quick shifter.
Bike felt quite small when you sat on it for the first time. Had amazing amounts of power & acceleration.
There were lots of options for traction control etc. but did not have enough time to 'play' with the settings.
One could get into some serious 'trouble' with the 'constabulary' on the road - it is just raring to go.
The owner of Shearwater MC had it out on a Rideday at Symmons Plains the previous weekend & was extremely enthusiastic!
The Tuono was VG too, with much more 'friendly' riding position of course.

I've test rode one at RG's.. Power and handling are awesome but the ergos are extreme and it does get warm quickly. It would be a real track weapon. I really do not know how Optimal does it but for me it would be a torture machine on the street. Mate of mine who fell in love with and wanted to buy one until he test rode it, this is someone who thinks 06 R6 is comfortable. I'd say test ride it for sure and you'll know, you will either love it or hate it pretty much immediately.
Shame, great bikes let down by an average dealer.
Buy it. Or an F4. I prefer the MV to ride though as it is more impractical and aggressive. And sexier.

Seems like a lot of people complain about the polished top triple clamp producing glare in your eyes with them.
I if i can survive 6 years of nelli ownership with no local representation, 4 different importers and the gfc. i expect you with manage fine with Aprilia in WA even if you dont go to Ricks.
How tall are you? Not so good for anyone over 6 foot..... Also Mr M and Drasius have summed it up well. Do a search for Drasius's bike reviews and have a read
Men have motorcycles while women have mensutral cycles, you can't talk to either while they are on it. The women's also has a sound, it goes nag-na-nag-nag-nag, biiiiiitch-bitch-biiiiiiiitch!

Thanx for the imput, went and had a sticky beak at RG's yesterday, copped the usual 'I have better things to do attitude' from the staff.
I was more interested in an almost new bike and save a few grand tho.
Ergos wouldn't be a drama for me as I don't have a problem with the RS250 or SP1 which have very racey riding positions.
Anyway my Missus ran up the back of someone yesterday in her car, and she didn't renew the insurance so I am going to have to buy
her bike (the RS250) off her so she can pay for the damage to the other car and hopefully have enough left over to buy herself
something cheap to get around in for a while . . . I'm not a happy camper today![]()

I can see you just one thing:
BUY-IT
Rsv4 is the top of superbike.
You should buy APRC version because it's the last evolution.
Aprilia RSV4 APRC is less complicated then other europe sbk.
As you know, Aprilia makes bikes born to run.
I think that only thing you need consider is if you want use it on track.
If you use the bike also on track you'll can enjoy it...
Aprilia RSV4 didn't born for the street
Tuono :-)
