Bimota and Benelli back in Oz

in Todays AMCN, new importer in Melb, Urban moto imports is doing things differently. instead of dealers around the country, its just them, if you are interested in ordering a bike and a test ride, they fly you to Melbourne for free, you test ride their demos in the melb showroom, and construct the order for your bike (more so for the Bimota specs) and 6 weeks later they air freight the bike to your city from Italy, cutting out the extra costs of middle men and holding stock, bike's are looked after by appointed service agents in each state to servincing and initial handover etc!

although i dont yet know who mine will be. According to Joe, the owner, this has allowed the new DB8 and DB8SP (1198 powered) to be sold for $7,000 less than the price of a DB7 in 2008! <40K ( and Nelli's at a historic low)

    The future of bike retail?

either way, I have about 4-5 weeks to go, and a certain new DB7/8 must be looking forward to his new Bimota rocking up soon!

The DB7/8 is still my dream bike.

    One day.
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

I like the idea for a business model... They would need to be careful about flying over only semi interested people though. I dare say there would be some vetting and probably a clause in there somewhere
Men have motorcycles while women have mensutral cycles, you can't talk to either while they are on it. The women's also has a sound, it goes nag-na-nag-nag-nag, biiiiiitch-bitch-biiiiiiiitch!

Usually works on basis that you pay for flights and if you buy bike money get deducted from purchase price, at least that similar to how it works in the UK, where you fly to factory ride and spec bike, then they refund you once you pay for bike

Bloody Nora, don't try looking on any of their web sites as they certainly don't have the address! Luckily the Scooterama hint above rattled some brain cells into action and I realized I was driving past the place to and from work every day until two weeks ago! Corner of Brunswick street and Alexandra Pd in Fitzroy!!!

Will be in Melbourne about then. Time for a visit to 'test' a new R160.
Remember half the cagers out there are below average drivers...
