    DP Rear Stand bearing failure

I wash my bike quite regularly and I just checked the rear stand by rotating the pin that goes through the rear wheel only to find the bearing are shot.

Look like water has got into them as when I removed the circlip to pull the pin out of the stand I found water sitting inside the housing.

Luckily enough the bearings are quite easy to come by: 6005.2RS,25x47x12mm and I will replaced them with stainless steel sealed ones which should fair better.

Just thought I would give a heads up to people who wash their bike whilst using one of these stands.

Out with the old and in with the new.
Replaced standard bearing with dust seal for stainless steel sealed bearings

Knocked out the old bearing with a pin punch

    Like new but better

Rear wheel bearing are fine with no sign of corrosion.

Using Truck Wash and then an air compressor to blow down bike. No corrosion anywhere on bike. Obviously rear stand was a bit neglected with regards to ensuring it was dry before storing
