Worrying about Ducati maintenance if a lifetimes work Jim
Shouldn't you be cramming your mind full of starboards, ports & navigation markers for today's RST

Is shimming a desmo motor the same as a normal DOHC motor?

Nope, can all be done through the inspection covers.
    Desmoquattro Valve Adjustment

    EDIT: Actually, maybe you do???
    Hold on, I'll investigate further.

Edit 2: looks like the cams do need to come out.

You need to go to the dealer for warranty, I never have and always get the claim looked after.

It's not major shit going wrong, just fiddly shit...the left indicator fails to go on without a lot of persuasion, rear compression adjuster doesn't 'click' making it hard to adjust. Just crap like that...they're my closest dealer and also a mid way point between home and work in welshpool.

After that's sorted, i'll be looking for someone good to look after my GT and 1000S. I've heard good reports about Pro Twin?? Any thoughts??

Pro Twin is my pick over any repairs/service/engine build shop in Perth.

Call them up, go around and say hello.

So what has your "fiddly shit" warranty work got to do with your dealer?
Not all Ducati mechanics in Perth can claim warranty costs for you unless Sumatie knows something we dont........

To be honest, it's just convenience. It's 5 mins from and home and i go past on way to/from work...just easier. I don't think i'll be getting my bikes serviced there though...I was under the assumption it had to be a dealer to do warranty work.
