    Guzzi Info Please

    Hi,
A mate is interested, (maybe me too ) on a Guzzi 850 Le Mans 2 that needs some work and has been sitting for a few years, to all the people that know, what is a sound runner worth? I realise condition is everything but I would like to know a starting point to help him out.
Any important things to look out for when looking at one too would be great.

    thanks in advance

Tell them not to do it, the engine pokes out the wrong way.

A MkII LeMans is not worth as much as a MkI I think. Price varies so much by condition but they're certainly no Ducati 750SS green frame or Laverda 750SFC. I think someone who has a unhealthy desire for one might pay around $8k for one which is in extraordinarily good condition? A sound runnder might be worth $3K? A great project as a "first ever" I reckon. There are a lot of guzzi nuts around the world and suppliers producing all sorts of parts.
Click here to see my Ducati 999R in the PSB garage... You'll love it!

Don't click here to see my ZX9R aka The Ginger Ninja... there's no link!

Is it complete or has it had the orginal fairings stripped and looks more like Jamithi's. Does the gearbox have ZD before or after the serial number. How many kms how long has it been parked up etc etc. Somewhere between 3500 and 7-8, the real "one's to have" is ethier the MkI, 750s or the much latter but similarly styled 1000s but you won't get much change out of 15 000 for a good one of those. Best bet is to go see Mario at Thunderbikes and talk to him he probally knowes the bike and will give you a pretty straight answer and what he thinks.

    Or buy Jamithi's

The situation is that a reconditioned one like nero was suggesting can cost up to 15 and a fucked one will cost you 3 and you can throw 10 at it with ease. If it is a reasonable one that say only needs tyres etc then 8 is the go. If you dont buy it let me know as I am keen on buying one if it hasnt been modified. Strangley enough guzzis like that are only worth somthing in their original state.....

By the way it WILL outlast any bevel drive or lavertry...!

Mine is at the moment also at Mario's being pampered.
Might not sell it and just cruize around on it.
