mv agusta f4 1000 test ride today

i have always loved the look of the mv f4 and had the offer of a test ride today .....so of course I took it .Lovely power and delivery ,suspension was great (it had a ttx rear and ohlins internals on the front showa (so i was told) magnesium wheels off a tamburini full corse exhaust, but the fucking ride position....can someone please tell me how the fuck you are supposed to ride the thing. The rear ride was set high, it had rearsets but it felt like the bars were waaay too high and also too close. For a point of reference I also rode a rsv 06 ,fireblade 04 and my current bike a 999s all back to back and the mv (sorry everyone who ownes and loves their bikes ) just felt irrational and shit

ok crucify me if you will but i would love some answers as to why this beautiful bike felt so awful (please no references to your hot ex ha ha )

hmmm sounds like it was set up that way by the previous owner. The seats at first usually feel high but the bars shouldn't feel the way you explained. Also showa forks? what model, must have been a 1000s

the bars do feel a little higher on the F4s than a 999, but nowhere near what you're describing. Are they on risers at all?

The bars feel high on an F4, never heard that before.

I just couldn't imagine they would be standard. If the ride height was set high the bars would feel lower than normal.

I agree that they feel a little close, after riding a speedtriple the F4 does feel narrow.

Meh, could it be more uncomfotable than being 6'2, 80kg on an Aprilia RS125?

I would buy the F4 fot it's looks alone. Comfort factor would be last on my list when buying.

    1000S doesn't have Showa forks - Marzochi 50mm's
Sunds like they've pulled front end from a 750, unlesss there were a few early thous with Showa's... Which I' unaware of...
Sounds like a mixmatched bike... previous owner would have been interesting....
MV should not be uncomfortable - I'm commuting on mine at moment. With no dramas unless I get lazty and put weight on wrists....
Sounds like needs a bit of adjustment towards stock... you'll find much more joy then
