    My New Italian Steed.

    Guzzi.JPG
After over 6 months of do I or don't I, I went & did, just picked up from Mario @ Thunderbikes this morning.
Moto Guzzi Sport 1200 8V. Only done 100klms this morning but so far, so very very good. Looking forward to getting it out on the country roads tomorrrow morning. Big thanks to Mario for making it such a pleasant sales experience. The bigger shops could certainly learn a thing or two from him.

On a motor that takes 5-10 000kms to run in?

My first bike was 'run in' doing track days as a demo bike. Not 1 problem.

My second bike was not 'run in'. Not 1 problem.

    Meh

Guzzi's aren't built like modern bikes ,although they are slowly are getting there. Attempts to rev much past 4-5000rpm (remembering the redline is around 8 000) in the first couple hundred kms will be met with mechanical resistance and serious amounts of heat coming off the motor. They don't start really running properly till around 20 000kms fuel consumption drops and it will rev harder after this point. Most other bikes you'd get away with no run in.
