Raider Motorsport to offer Compliance on imported dukes

"We’re pleased to say we can now assist with complying the entire 1098/1198 Ducati range, and will soon be adding the 748/916/998, and 749/999 and ST2/3/4 range as well. We can also assist with Bimota YB9 and looking at doing the Ducati MH900e if there’s enough interest. "

There goes the resale of Ducati, much more choice and so much cheaper in the US, wonder what the compliance costs will be?

You will still need to have lived overseas and owned the bike there for at least a year -right? This just provides a means to comply a bike that you are entitled to import if I understand this correctly. In which case it won't be a free for all. But if I'm wrong, 998R for me please!

If they have jumped through the hoops for low volume compliance, its not a personal import with the 1 year caveat.

FYI, for personal imports the rules changed and you can only bring one in every 5 years and must be able to prove that you are permanently moving back. this blows as it closes down the ability for aussies living overseas to send cars/ bikes back every 12 months while they live overseas. ho hum....

True. I've only seen one for sale, and that was Frasers Sydney recently: listed at $39k; was off the nest a few days later. Since only 5 or 6 made it to Oz it's extremely rare to see one for sale. Raider's costs could quite well make it not worth doing in my example.

Peter Stevens had a jap import 998R until a couple of weeks ago. They have a 996R for mid $30's. 996R and 998R are pretty much the same thing.
Click here to see my Ducati 999R in the PSB garage... You'll love it!

Don't click here to see my ZX9R aka The Ginger Ninja... there's no link!

998R engine is different, larger bore shorter stroke. True 999.
    Everything else essentially the same.
