Anyone know who owned the black s2r1000 at Manheim Fowles being auctioned, it has a key but would be interested in more info.
Would be fun to fix it up and have another bike.

There are two questions in life.
1:Which way do I go
2:Whats the lap record.
Make sure it has the red key as is expensive to replace locks and ecu.

thanks Ducmon,
if no red key, I would have to try to find the original owner to see if they have the code card and red key. or buy a new set..

ECU $2000, locks kit $900 and dash $1800. Not really worth it unless you get it for $2000. The other parts included would make it financially unviable, not trying to stop ya but it can add up.

Sure, cheers for the info, damn thats a lot of money if you lose your red key.So motto is DON'T lose it.

What's wrong with that bike? Frame bent? Maybe it's the pics but the front wheel looks like it's a bit off-centre.
If you don't get the red key and code card you can replace the ECU with a FIM U59 ECU. No immobilizer you see (and you can program it, unlike the DP ECU)

I haven't had a look yet Rod, on the site it says the only viewing day is the morning before the auction.

Good idea if you plan on keeping it, if not it'll bite you in the ass. If it's straight it'll make a good tracker at the right price.

Why's that Ducmon?

People are a little bit suspicious if a bike doesn't come with the original equip, they might see a programmable ecu but they'll also be wondering why it dosen't the original and red key. Alot harder to sell a repairable writeoff than you think.
DUCATI 999S R.I.P.
I guess a repairable will always attract less money but I agree if I wanted a keeper it could be a cheap way to do it.

Yeah, a repairable write off will always have that unknown factor I guess. I'd have to have the frame checked by Kellets, Bob Martin or someone to make sure it's actually straight! Going by the pics of that S2R it must have some major problems deep inside to be classed as a write off?!?!

Who bought it? I know someone who had their eye on it, curious..
Not for individual sale.
