Yep, thought i would ride the bike into uni today, park it just outside the garage on the recycled brick driveway as I'm locking the garage up, just so happens a corner of the brick it was on decides to crumble and I'm greeted with the "crunch" as I'm in the garage getting my helmet Damages looks to be ,

snapped off clip on on left side, the handlebar is a cast item then it goes into the milled/billet fork clamp, Can i realistically expect to be able to eazi-out the remaining bit and push fit a new bar in?

Clutch lever bent ninety degree's forward, depending on the Benelli price, I may go original, a Aprilia rs250 one (exactly the same, meant to be heaps cheaper)or order one from red racing in Italy, its a stock Domino part, and i think it may be a part on a duke too, not sure which though.

Mirrors totally snapped off, Johnno From Benelli Oz assures me their in stock, so I'll just have to wear that, although i understand it wont be cheap.

Bit more rubber off the gear lever, not worried about it as I'm going to rip it all off and dip it in liquid urethane.

left fairing scratched all over the Benelli decal, two tiny nicks in the Black "sticker" that form the black lower half, will need repainting at least.

Rear ducktail, left side, area the size of my thumb print chipped and scratched. re-paint too.

Excess with insurance (western QBE) is $500.00, so it looks as if I'll have to decide later today to make a claim or pay for it myself once i get the parts quote for the local dealer. Although i expect the cost of the mirror and painting panels would cost over $500, so Most likely its going to be a insurance job.

Looks as If i should have done Errols from the Benell forum's sidestand mod to make her lean over a tad more sooner, I'll be purchasing a re-usable cable tie to have the front brake on when left unattended from now on

Last day of uni for a month tomorrow, was looking forward to get out on her, frigging pipe dream now !!!!!!!!

If the clutch lever is not snapped then can't you heat it up in the oven and try and bend it back? Or has it actually bent the perch?

handlebar has totally snapped off!, i could heat the lever up and try to straighten her but the chances of getting it exactly right are slim, better off spending the money and getting the part new. With only 8 RS's in OZ I expect a wait for a new LH clip on I will try to remove what left of the cast bar section out of the billet clamp section and i can lathe up a replacement,if I'm forced to cost wise, though I would prefer the proper bit, Although Johnno fromBenelli OZ may slip me his off his race bike if i really get stuck time wise, bugger waiting forever for a boat, they can air freight another

Sorry to hear about the bike. Really does piss you off and shit like that happens. I know I almost pulled my arm out of it's socket trying to save mine from rolling off the stand a few years ago!

If you are having trouble getting a replacement clipon, I've got a set of trick billet clipons going cheap that would tide you over...just depends if they will fit your bike.

sussed out the clip-on, it screws onto a threaded boss that comes of the fork clamp (all one billet piece), so the threaded boss has snapped off and the actual bar is bent, Currently prepping myself for the expect cost for parts, with a few pale ales from one mr cooper , And I'm meant to be studying for a chem exam tomorrow , so utterly utterly pissed off <_< At most I'm only up for $500 bucks though, although the miss's was totally blow away on how a bike toppling over instantly workes out at $500.

Sorry to hear about the fall Nathan.
Unless you are warming up the engine you dont need a cable tie, just put it in gear.
I am not familiar with the Benelli stand mod, but I doubt it would have helped with the brick crumbling

Hope you have a speedy return to two wheeled fun.

It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

That's too bad. It happened to my Ducati on a slope once. A simple fall over like that easily costs about $1500-2000 to repair. Best collect off insurance mate.

Off to Rick gills today, apparently all bits are in stock, except for maybe a mirror, I 'm hopeful there is one otherwise about a month from italy, still i expect at least 4 weeks from today before I get her back,

I'm getting some scans of tests of the new 1130 Tornado and Cafe racer any day now from the Uk, with post when they arrive.

Owww, Im sorry to hear that. As a fellow "I cried in my driveway at my bike on its side" victim, my sympathies, and may all your bills be small ones. (Irish bikers blessing)

For therapy I recommend digging out the offending brick paver and throwing it around the yard yelling "mother f(*ker" while growling and drooling.

I think I saw your bike at Rick Gill's today. It was very sad, seeing the scrape along the side.
Hope you get it back soon!
