    Side stand fix?

Was doing a bit of work on the S/L today and was knelt next to the bike turning the bars from left to right , checking cable free play.
Next thing i know the bikes trying to fall on me , the 2 bolts holding the side stand on have stripped their thread and the stand is basically just hanging .
It's also broken a bit of the threaded casting off the case .

Anyone had the same happen ? easy fix ?
Was thinking maybe a metal bond of some sort (Devcon or similar) to re attach the broken bit, drill out old thread and use a helicoil ?
If thats the way to go (having never used one) where do i get a helicoil kit ?

I would replace the whole stand
In the mean time use a rear stand

Pretty sure the stand bolts to the engine case on the SL Shan.
Depending on how much metal is left on the mounts you may get away with a helicoil. Would be good if the faces were flush & square so it had a good purchse when tightened.
You may need to build it up with weld (tig) before repairing the thread.

As my usual Ducati advise go's - See Justin at Pro Twin, not many problems he hasn't seen.
It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

Cheer's guys , as Bert says shan it bolts to the engine case and a rear stand can be a little awkward to lug around .
